As many others have stated, this is an IRS contact line. I also work for the IRS and a coworker called my cell on his work phone line and this is the number that showed up. Some of you folks are just plain paranoid.
Due to the VOIP service the IRS uses, this number will appear on caller id when IRS personnel call you. However, you should be given a local or to free number to call back.
I'm a contract security guard for IRS. The IRS is moving to VOIP phone service. Unfortunately this is a generic number that appears when we receive calls from several of our offsite facilities.
This isn't the IRS. If it was you could hold for next available agent and they would have left a badge number. Someone stole my identity 2 years ago and took my refund. Since then I have had a attorney working with IRS on this. Why didn't they contact him or send a letter. Because its a scam. The number she left me to return here call has been disconnected. Her accent from India is so thick I can't even make out her name.
Got a call, didn't answer but she left message. Couldn't understand whole name, think it was Robin ?????-Barnes. No noticeable Indian accent, sounded possibly African-American. The "tell" for me though is that I've had this number for 8 years and the message to call back (to a different number) about a tax issue was for 2 people I never heard of so if it's the IRS they sure don't have their facts straight.
This number came up on my phone and they left a message. It is a Tax Advocate that I requested last week to help us get information on our 2015 Taxes since the IRS can't seem to give us a straight answer. While it may be possible for scammers to use this number to get information fraudulently, in my case this was a legit contact.
You are a lying shill. The IRS NEVER calls demanding collections - EVER. And who would be so STUPID as to believe you pay with iTunes cards, green dot cards, etc. Get lost shill.
I got a call today from this number it was a lady saying she is agent. And I'm a witness in a fraud case. And she wants to meet with me at my house. She would not give me no facts on the case.
You are gullible and easily fooled to believe this is the IRS. We are in the world of digital technology . Google search, research in the internet what this number is. There are different kinds of search engines you can use in the web. If you believe this is irs, then it is like those scam emails stating you won a $$$$$$ prize in a raffle or sweepstakes when you did not even buy a raffle ticket!
