Kelsey, I will not stop either. We have got to join together to get to these people. The problem is that we don't know where we all are.
HHStudent, you're right, the Portland address is in their terms and conditions.they arre also right because they do have several notices on the student's bulletin board saying not to send to portland.i guess they cant update their website as fast as they should. its seems innocent enough on your part and theirs. here is the terms from their website for escalating to the disputes department"DISPUTE RESOLUTIONWhere a dispute arises with respect to a matter involving the Student and the Company, excluding any disputes related to privacy issues, the Haverhill Adjudication Committee ("Adjudication Committee") shall decide the matter in keeping with its terms of reference and applicable law. Where a party has a dispute that it desires to escalate to the Adjudication Committee, she or he shall submit a written notice, containing a description of the matter in reasonable detail, to the Adjudication Committee for evaluation. The Adjudication Committee shall render a decision within 30 calendar days of receipt of the notice. seems you just need to send a letter explaining things.can you get the refund they promise for getting 80% if you dont take the contractor position?
Has anyone heard from Haverhill Staging since checks were refunded? Are they still in business or what?Any info would be appreciated. Come on, Jackie, Kimberley, Everyone knows you are on these sites-respond, .
I have been looking into Haverhill Home Staging for a few weeks now and I have literally read all of these posts. I see some commonalities between the people who didn't pass the exam or who didn't get a job offer. The majority (not all) have poor grammar and spelling and I'm guessing they're thinking maybe a 60k/year career is easy to come by. After checking on the news and articles section of the Haverhill website, I read the details on the new hires. These are not newcomers to professional postions. These women well educated and well rounded, and are probably taking a pay cut to do this job. Most of them are college educated and have worked for many years in jobs that pay more than $30/hour. I am convinced that Haverhill is looking, not only for good grades, but experience, passion, intelligence, and image. If they are scamming people, I hope it is taken care of through the legal process.. and we know it will eventually happen. The T&C's are quite clear and there's not much room for a flexible interpretation. It certainly does not sound easy. Basically, if your resume isn't strong to begin with, you shouldn't bother trying to get hired by Haverhill. If you have the grades but no resume, you'll get your certificate and that's it. They also state that they provide the additional 'on the job' training only if you are hired by Haverhill. They're not teaching you how to start a business, but to enhance current skills. It looks like they're in the process of rolling out their company in the US and since it's the employees that make any company successful, it's no wonder they're being very selective.
sorry to read about your bad experiences with haverhill. believe me, the majority of us are in the same boat with you. and just so you know, the more you complain, the more they ignore you. and yes, i am one of the people being sued by them. they claim i have lied about their company and what they do and what they offer. as you can see for yourselves, i have not lied. they don't train you, the test is unfair, they ignore you, you can't see your test results. i stand by what i have said in the past. be sure to read all websites (other than what haverhill puts out there) and see what others say. everyone talks about taking a stand to go up against them, and i keep stating, we can do it. but no one seems to have the guts to follow through. i understand it scary, it's frustrating, and when they threaten you with a lawsuit, as they have done with others (some were just threatened, some actually received a lawsuit) it makes most just want to chalk it up to a bad lesson learned. a costly lesson, but still, something needs to be done. i still would like to pursue a class action suit. other so called schools have class action suits against them, so why not haverhill????let me just re-iterate. haverhill is the worst. they finally, after months of asking them "where is my measuring tape that was supposed to be included with my material, that i paid for?", they finally sent me a cheque. a generic form letter, "dear student,", but yet, they claim i am not a student. and no matter how many times i tell them how to spell my name, they still can not get that right.the cheque has my name misspelled. these people don't care once they get your money. just be sure to let others know and be sure to check back often on these websites.
linda, i never got a cheque for the tape measure. hmmmmm. anyway, there were 3 questions that i can remember. one was something like other than staging, what are the 5 services you can offer a home owner. another was what do plant bring into a space and the last i remember is what are the 6 most important rooms in a house?i agree with you about learning, but if the book only teaches you how to then the questions above can not be answered. i still don't know what are the 5 services. see, i took notes during the tele-class, and kimberly stated that they do not organize or de-clutter, that task should be done by the homeowner. however, when i spoke to her about my test and that question, she said we could offer it as a service. so, which is it, we do it or we don't do it? the question about the plants, i answered to what i know that plants do for a space, but what was the answer they were seeking? i don't know. i am upset because i wanted to learn. i can read any book and learn. it doesn't cost me over $1000. i am a hard work, i study hard, i strive to get good grades, but i also expect to be taught by humans. if i had known i was only going to learn from that book, i would never have signed up. i would have purchased more books (to add to my growing collection of decorating)on staging and then be an autodidact, which i sort of am for most of the other things i know, especially about my beliefs and herbs.there book was lacking a lot of information that i have found in other books, like the staging for dummies book. during my tele-class, kimberly talk statistics and about her career as a stager. not much more. i did ask a question and it was answered, but it was about garages. i couldn't think of any other questions at that time or just after. no one else asked any of those questions either. i know i should have done better on the test. i proved to them that i contacted and received the info i needed for lesson 6, they still never changed my grade as promised (i can't force a trades company to respond to a letter and that should not be held against a student if i provide the email answers i needed, which is what i did as per kimberly's instructions). and i still do not agree with lesson 7. 500 words for a mission statement is too long. i received an 8 on that, but that is a personal statement. it contained all the necessary pointed they asked for. and my final gripe, the floor plan project. i received a 9 on that. why not a 10. she never said. just a comment of "great job!" for that i even had to be creative and use unusual things to make the room. the software didn't provide the options i needed for my floor plan (a large corner tub, a kitchen island that was on an angle and had a slightly different shape, a two-sided fireplace, creating angled walls) and for all that i only got a 9, i feel that should have been a 10. i studied drafting for 2 years so i know what i was doing, and worked with the software that was provided, although it lacked many things. you do the best with what you got, and when you go above and beyond to make it as exact as possible, then it deserves the top grade. what more could i have done to get a 10? this is why i am upset. this is why i am fighting with them. this is why i will be persuing this matter, because it is not fair to the majority of students. if they told me what i could have done to make improvements, then i would have and i did in 2 lessons, but it still didn't change my grades. so what, i only get one chance? how do you expect anyone to pass then. my final grade was a 74 - but again, it was lacking the 3 additional points for the trades people (once verified the grade will change from a 7 to a 10), and when i did resubmit my work, nothing changed. so the only option was for the test, i passed the test 20/30 but still, i feel i should have done better. it's not just one area of this course, it's several. when i go to court, i will have all this to prove to the judge that what i state is true. i deserve to have my money back, they did not teach. they gave me a book and commented on my work. i wanted to get a better grade, an 80 to be able to work for this company. that was my goal. as it was for many people (unlike danielle's comment in an interview that the majority of students don't seek work with them) passing the course is one thing, and many of us have done so, but passing with a high enough grade to get work, is another story. again, this is easier than what i learned in college, i had to learn latin in college, and i graduated with honours. so how come i can not pass this with a higher mark? how come the resubmitted work did not change the grade? and how do i know i didn't pass with higher marks if i can't see the results of my test. how do i learn from the test if i can't see the results. even in school, you take a test, you see the results, the correct answers, you can't retake the test, but you learn from your mistakes. this is not the case here! far from it.
There's a loophole: you have to actually graduate for the guarantee to come into effect. They can make it as hard as they want to weed out people they don't want to give money back to.Secondly, there is no full refund. That's false advertising. They say in their terms of service that they keep $250 as a "processing fee".
Em and all you others out there - DO NOT ENROLL IN HAVERHILL'S COURSE, IT IS A SCAM!!! They take your money and then make it impossible for you to ever complete the course, so of course they never have to live up to their "Guarantee" of employment, and the return of your course fees. Their course has you doing an unbelievable amount of work staging many houses which takes about 150 hours, and then they return your work to you as "not good enough, please re-do". They tell you lies about how busy they are, that they will "get back to you", and then they never do. You will NEVER complete the course, and will be out the $1046.00. Most people just give up and go away quietly, and this is what they are counting on. Reading what these scammers have written on this site is laughable. Don't worry, you rip-off artists, karma is a [***], and you won't get away with it forever.
Interestingly enough, this company hires professionals with staging credentials from Haverhill Institute.
hahahahahaha. and you are an employee. yes of course, because the employees, the glorified assignment checkers, are the only ones that come on to these sites and post comments like that. because you are a g** damn genius, gump! you are so much smarter than all of us because you say so. i love that every employee that responds to these sites always states that the ones who don't pass are idiots, stupid, dumb. and those who pass are brainiacs, the true genius, the best!it's sad, really. i have always known that people that brag about being smarter than others are the true idiots. and you just proved my point.i know we are all smart enough to pass, maybe some lack in english writing skills, but still, this is not rocket science. so what makes you better than me?????? tell me, because you passed and want to work for this company? yeah, real smart!
