Some people have paid the debts even when paid it gets sold off. I just finished dealing with this and yeah it's no picnic.
We're gonna win, forget about a draw, we're gonna score, and then we're gonna get a few more. Hey we're going all the way WERE GONNA WIN.-CAUSE WINNING IS EVERYTHING
Look guys, the reason the people at these collection agencies are so harsh and threatening and rude is because they work ON COMMISSION. They have a base salary sure, I think it's like 1 grand a week for MJR. But the fact is the more delinquent accounts they close (i.e. the more people they convince to pay their bill in full)... the more money they make!So you don't have to be scared of their threatening phone calls. Just hang up. If they keep calling, tell them they have the wrong number and say "You've reached a hospital." Then they will take you off their list for sure. These numbers are all on a "delinquent list" and no one knows who called last, which is why sometimes you can be called 20 or 30 times per day. "Sarah" who just came in for the afternoon shift doesn't know that "Matthew" just called the same number during the day shift. Like a previous poster, they're just a bunch of kids working a [***] base + commission job.Ask to work out a payment arrangement (even $20 a month if you have to go that low) or go to a debt consolidator or get a lawyer and tell them to call your lawyer. Or tell them to sue you. They won't unless you owe a LOT of money. Really, there is no reason to get freaked out over these calls. It's just high-pressure tactics cuz they work on commission, just like a car salesman tries to pressure you into buying a car. These people don't hate you, they don't even know your history most of the time, they just want you to pay your bill so they'll earn a bonus.
wish that they stop calling now ther are calling work for me if i get too many i could lose my job i am working part time just got back to work after having breast cancer and having both breast removed dont need the harassement
Your right, it would take everybody in the world not paying their bills, but it only takes a handful of CEO's giving themselves big bonuses to through the country into a recession. So keep on worshiping the capitalist ideologies.
hahahha...oh you guys are [***].yes it happens, when you work for third party collections, you sometimes call the relatives of the debtor. too bad the [***] dead beat gave out your # instead of his/her own when signing up for a service, then that same # gets passed down to a collection agency...and THEN you get pissed off at us for calling because you have imbecile relatives who are out to screw you.oh and for the "get a real job" comment, you have no clue what i make in commission dollars. so...stfu =Dgrow up,assume responsibility, pay your bills.ciao.
MJR Collection Services tells me I owe a balance of over $9000 by using a credit card I never got. I don't want to "get off my [***] and get a job" to pay for something I never owed. Please stop generalizing. There might be some merit to people's complaints directed towards MJR.
Some c-ky little brat called me at 930-10 this morning (monday) Didn't state her name just asked for someone , by first name. I asked why she was calling, and she repeared same question, i hung up. Didn't want to talk to little brat. She kept calling back, calling back, i pick up hang up, i say don't call unless you know in full who you are asking for.this is basically what she saidWHY ARE YOU HANGING UP WHY YOU KEEP HANGING UP!! I AM GONNA KEEP CALLING.As she was saying this i was asking to speak to her manager, because that is harasment and a threat. I don't want this lady calling me (I clearly ain't in collections). She wouldnt give me manager or her name, i told her its harrasment and shes like I REALLY DONT EVEN CARE! I WILL KEEP CALLING.Note to you stupid little brat. You shouldn't be working at all, you're rude and annoying. Your communication skills and representation of your company is poor, collection agency or not, you do not abide by any rules. When someone asks for your name by LAW you have to give, you have to give your managers name or let them speak to a manager when needed. You wouldn't let me speak to yours because your a f--ing scared little brat whos gonna get fired. Note to people who are being harassed . Get the agents name as soon as you see the number, that way, if they are rude you can make a complaint, act as if you want to talk to them and get their name, don't make it seem like you are going to tell their manager. When i called back to make complaint the lady said she couldnt do anything because there are two officed toronto and mississauga, she wouldn know who to direct the call to she said next time get agents name.
