Checkout the statute of limitations on unsecured debt. After two years have passed without payment they can no longer take you to court. Collection Agencies threaten with legal action in hopes of you making a payment. The payment will reset the clock and it will start over, two years from last payment. Check with the Ministry of Consumer Protection in Ontario.Agencies buy bad debts from Creditors for pennies to the dollar. So now you know why they harass you. They can make a killing. The Creditor has already written off the debt.

Rec'v two voice msg's this week regarding my 7+yrs old accounts with TD. The staff that left those msgs sounded as if they were fresh off the boat, and that caused me to laugh when their threats were finished - oh, the stress I felt - LOL!!

This number called me today. I don't owe anything, but unfortunatley the individual who had my phone number before it was assigned to me owes a LOT of money to a LOT of people. Collection calls non-stop. So irritating.
