I got a call from them two or three times and no one says anything. Irritating! Thanks to all who posted on this one. It really helps trying to define who is being silent.
Call a few times a day - Calling about Medical Bills - Ya See The Hospital was "in Network" therefore they automatically "beg off" on a negotiated rate with the insurance company- Bob and his limp band of hooligans are proposing that I pay the difference which is not my responsibility - The Hospital negotiated the rate - I am not obligated to pay more just because I am insured ... I will tell you one thing though - From now on when I go to the hospital, My contact number is 913-262-6850
I have no problem answering my phone for identified or blocked calls. I do not have outstanding bills and luckily never been in a medical situation that has caused extreme financial expenses. Having said that, get off you high horse Nixon. You're not holyer then thou. You have NO idea what someone's financial situation is. I am in mortgage lending, and as an industry we disregard medical bills on credit in most circumstances. There is a reason for that and it is because in some cases its just not manageable. Imagine you are paying your bills, making enough money, living within your means, and then get in a bad car accident. After transport bills (ambulance ride), emergency room bills, radiology bills, and doctors bills, you are hit with about $300,000 in expenses. Can you as you say "pay your bills"? Sometimes life happens man. Sometimes people lose their jobs or insurance benefits or get in situations beyond their control. NONE of these people posting mentioned anything about a Visa or Best Buy card or Department store bill. Everyone is talking about medical bills. No one goes out and gets medical bills unless they are hurt or in need of medical assistance. Its not like buying a TV and enjoying it and not paying the bill for it. MAN, have a freaking heart and emotion. My parents are both surgeons and I have seen MANY times that they have done a surgery under emergency room admittance damn well knowing the patient doesnt have insurance. You think that someone without insurance can afford a doctors bill of $30,000? Not to mention medical and equipment bills. MANY MANY MANY times my parents have written off the bill. Its called humanity man. Sometime arrangements have been made of $20 a month interest free. Can you calculate how many years it will take to pay off? My point is two things, first off, dont go judging man without even knowing the circumstances. Second, have a heart, its not always about the almighty dollar. I hate to ask, but what would you do if you were faced in a similar situation? Would you like the doctor not to operate on you because you don't have insurance and some drunk a**hole ran a light? Lets see your choices are paralysis or getting medical care...... oh but wait, your dont have the $80K plus for your bills..... Tough choice... oh well, I guess you dont really need to walk. Does that sound fair??????
Oh I get it... you work in the same collection department as Nixon? Is it for this company everyone is talking about or is it another collection company?Id like to see your response when you get into a similar situation as these folks. Oh ya, but that will never happen to you, because you are special and smart and manage your finances excellently, right? You are holyer then thou as well, right? You will never have a child born with a medical problem, or get hit by a drunk driver, or have a horrible accident or have a spouse that needs medical assistance or parent that falls and shatters their hip, right? Because you are holyer then thou and plan appropriately, right? You all should fear your comments. I personally am NOT in a medical financial situation and I say thank God because I feel for people that are. If I was you, I would fear for myself. karma is certainly a B.
Nobody can put a lien on your house or try to garnish wages unless they have a judgment against you. And, if they bought the debt from whoever you may have owed, they can't sue you. If you really have a debt, tell them to sue you because at least you've got the situation in front of a judge -- but, bet they can't sue!
Excellent! Let's all be Bob Rizzy and return harrassment about what they owe to us! I've been getting calls which are silent and then they hang up. I guarantee you that I don't have any medical bills because I don't go to the doctor! If I can't cure myself, I wear the ailment out. I know I'm very blessed to have good health. I have my phone listed by first initiate and last name with no address and I get collection calls from everywhere! Therefore, I've decided I'm going to legally change my name to "Bad [***] Winchester" which may make them think twice about calling me for anything--hopefully.
Thanks, Liz; very well stated. But legal advice? How naive. We should all be educated as to how the law applies to us. I was delighted to see that someone actually launched out and called their number. I hope he was granted a mega-big judgment.
They do appear to be very creepy. Instead of a whistle, try that low throaty voice of Hannibal Lector and ask them Hannibal-type questions. My cousin did and they NEVER called back. Said my cousin was f** weird, but they actually said the F-word.
I pay my bills, always have. I have no idea why they're calling me.And it seems strange that you would be reading this site if you have not had some contact with them, else why would you come here?Might ought to get the log out of your own eye . . .
