I did not answer this call and they left a message on my voice mail. It was a recording of a man's voice saying: " To receive your medical alert system press 1 now, press 9 to opt out." The caller ID was Christopher Hill.

Total scam. And for Fannie: You are right, AARP does sell lists of names and once they get yours, you will receive more junk mail that you can imagine, phone calls you don't want and insurance company literature by the hundreds. And, remember you pay for all this with your yearly membership fee.Christopher Hill

And you forgot to mention that you can opt out of all of that. I have been a member for several years and get very little mail, no phone calls, no junk mail, no insurance company literature by the hundreds. Simply because when I signed up I paid attention, and specified how I wanted to be contacted and what I wanted to receive. Sometimes it pays to read.

It is a new kid in town on my extensive, "unwanted calls list".I did not answer and (fortunately) stopped the call before going to my answering system, so I did not have to spend time listening to such an absurd scam. Thanks to previous comments, I now have an idea of who have called me.Yes, really? Do you want my Medicare number? and also my credit card number? Do you need/want something else from me before I block your number for ever?

I'm calling in regards to Internal revenue inquiry. I hung up. Our local newspaper have warned seniors about this scam.

You misunderstand. This is not the medic alert bracelet. They are hawking the in-home medic alert SYSTEM. They claim to give it to you for free, BUT they want your Medicare # (which, is your SS#, so they can use it for ID THEFT.) AND they want your Credit Card # for the 'monthly monitoring fee.' There is NOTHING FREE about this and there is nothing LEGAL about this. Everything, from the illegal pre-recorded call to the pretense that something is 'free' is FRAUD.

Scamming Medicare for medical alert,back or knee brace,pain cream and other things.This kind of calls started once my husband started Medicare.There must be some leak from the Social Security system.He is gone for over a year but I still get calls offering FREE stuff for him.
