This is an update after about a month -- The voice messages get left on my phone about one every other day. Apparently, they are looking for a Brittany Merritt, or something like that. There is no one here with a name that is even remotely similar to that one. I have not yet returned their calls, and I never will.

For anyone reading these messages, either because you have been called by these people, or because you are part of the legal establishment investigating this company, I just wanted to highlight something I've noticed about the messages left on this page. It is noticeable that there at least 5 messages which were left here recently, all posted on exactly the same day - 18th May - and all ostensibly from different accounts, "BANKER", "attornybkb", "LOAN SHARK", "BLACKNED", "not a DBTR", and all of them were uncannily similar in their angry tone and sentiment in support of Atlas Recoveries. Most of them are in shouty caps, telling people they should just "PAY UP", and "FESS UP TO WHAT YOU HAVE CREATED AND PAY YOUR BILL" etc. The person posting these messages is telling people he doesn't even know that they owe debt and that they should "JUST PAY YOUR BILL !!!!!!!!!!!"Now, it could just be me, but the fact that there is this series of messages, which are all similar, posted in support of Atlas Recoveries, posted on the same day seems, telling people they should "PAY UP" seems like just a little too much of a coincidence. Obviously it is someone from this scam company trying (but doing an absolutely terrible almost laughable job), to legitimate their scam, and make it seem as though its a real company. Clearly these people are not very smart - I mean at least post messages on different days, so as not to give yourself away! Its interesting actually, because the messages themselves speak volumes about their shouty, angry, and aggressive attitude. This is exactly what they're like.Anyway, I just thought it was important to point this out. Obviously, as others have said, if you get a call from these fools just ignore it. Inform the necessary authorities if it persists, and share your experiences here for the whole world to see. The Internet can be a very useful tool for these kinds of things.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT (HEAVY ACCENT) CALLERS FROM ATLAS RECOVERIES, THEY HAVE NEVER TOLD ME WHATS THE CALL REGARDING BUT WANTS TO VERIFY MY PERSONAL INFORMATIN WITH THEM. THEY HAVE EVEN ASKED ME WHAT NUMBER DID THEY CALL FROM. I HAVE ASKED THEM NOT TO CALL MY EMPLOYER (THEY ALWAYS LEAVE VOICEMAILS AT 7:30PM) AND THAT I AM NOT IN OFFICE AFTER 4:30PM. I ALSO HAVE TOLD THEM TO SEND WHATEVER DOCUMENTS THEY WISH TO SERVE ME WITH TO ANY ADDRESS THEY HAVE FOR ME, THEY ALWAYS THEN SAY WE CAN WORK SOME TYPE OF ARRANGEMENT OUT. I HAVE ASKED THEM ON MORE THAN A FEW OCCASIONS NOT TO CALL MY EMPLOYERS NUMBER, TO CALL THE NUMBER THEY USUALLY REACH ME AT. TO NO AVAIL HAVE THIS HAPPENED

We have asked atlas to stop calling on a particular employee, in one day they called 4 times in only 2 hours. The gentleman on the phone screamed at me, and used profanity. they call several times through out the week, and its very fustrating. they cannot call a place of business for a personal matter on an employee.

They have called my place of employment and randomly reach different people in the office. they ask for me and then even asked if the employment was was a law firm. Which it isn't. I'm assuming this is about a debt that I'm not aware of, but they say they have called several times and left messages. They have not. But I need them to stop calling my place of employment.

When i get the calls on my cell they never leave a message, they call my job and tell who ever answers it's in her best interest to call, we hate to get the job involved. I have talked to two people that give no information but want to verify the last four of your social, then say you can settle this matter ( a debt i don't owe and know nothing about) or have a hard time with your credit and ever opening another bank account.

I too received a message stating they had left several messages, which they hadn't. Upon finally speaking to them, a Mr. DeAngelo harshly informed me that this was to collect a debt of an old Wachovia Account. Note: they did NOT give the usual debt collection statement. He then told me that he's put a freeze on my social security number so that I can not open anymore checkin accounts. They need to be stopped

YOU need to stop them. Get a consumer law attorney and go after them for making illegal threats and failure to cite the Mini-Miranda.
