This number recently called me, claiming to be from Microsoft Security. He said he got a report that my computer was infected with an "online infection". He went through a whole script that I could barely hear, the last bit I was able to make out was that I needed to be at my computer to go through some steps. I asked him if he meant I had a virus, but he insisted it was an "online infection" which was apparently far worse than a virus. I then had to ask him again what company he was calling from (I thought it was Verizon, since they text us stuff about our data usage from a number with an ID that starts with V and has a bunch of numbers, just like the id of this phone call). Once having confirmed him claiming to be from Microsoft Security and noting the severe lack of basic jargon, I had him pinned as a scammer, told him my computer was performing fine, and that I would not need his services. And then to confirm everything, I looked up the number and found this site with similar stories. I do admit, they are improving their story, based on other people's stories. They even had my last name, though a simple phone book look-up and get you that.

Just received a call and ask me were they speaking to: and they stated my name. I asked what did they want because I really wasn't in a good mood. They told me they were atech support that handled Winfows and that I had an infection or virus on my computer they we needed to get fixed now. I asked who I was speaking to and what company. They told me Global Technology headquarter in Ohio. Now the number on my caller ID was from California. I told,them I will not hand over my computer so they could gain access. Told them I would call Microsoft myself. He told me, oh and he was from India, that Microsoft dosent handle this and they were contracted out to do this. As he was speaking I googled using my iPad the company's name and I to.d him I just searched for his company and they are out of St Louis, MO. He was like yes and I told him you just said Ohio. He was still pressing me to turn on computer so we could fix the problem. I told him again they will not gain access to my computer. He was still pushing so I say ok, give me your name and he said David Hunt (I'm like yeah right), company's phone number and he gave me 1-800-254-5204 (sound like he was making up [***]), and full address and I will call you back. He gave me some city I didn't recognize and Ohio. I said no I want street address, city, and state. Then he hung up. Summer. I emailed Global Technology and told them someone is using their company name as a scam to gain access to individual computers.

Got several calls from this number but have not idea who they are or even where they might be calling from. Certainly, the number is not from anyone that I know. I wish that the idiots could be put in jail for life, but today that is a joke.

"Rex" with heavy accent calling from "my computer service department" told him I work at police department, have no computer and wasn't falling for his scam. Hung up on me. LOL

Illegal spoofed call, and illegal spoofed call = SCAM. Didn't answer (I NEVER answer calls from unfamiliar numbers). Blocked this number.

I Love this site!!!! Second call in two days claiming to be "Windows Tech Support". I have created a spread sheet to track these scammers. I also have an answering machine, which stops a lot of these callers in their tracks. Good Luck to all of you real people.
