Got this call about 10 minutes ago and I didn't stay on hold to wait for someone. Instead I checked here. I am also job hunting, and now I'm worried about scammers. Lovely.
I received this call and and picked up the phone, answering machine came on at the same time, they hung up on me, thinking I guess that no one was answering the phone, but I am glad it happened this way, now I know what to expect if it happens again. I agree be aware and do not give out your information. Too many scams out there right now, preying on innocent individuals needing employment.
I just got a call from them, too. Wow, during such a rough time in this country, this sort of scam is despicable.
Same number called me an hour ago. I have applied for so many jobs I figured it was one of them responding. I pressed one and was connected with a man in my area (South Carolina). He asked me a few questions and set me up with an interview for tomorrow. I agreed but still was so confused as he didn't mention a company name or any details about what I would even be interviewing for. After being really confused I looked it all up online. Won't be going to that interview tomorrow. What kind of company tries to scam people into working for them...
I got a call from this number also. I'm looking for work and was at first surprised when I got the call and I accidentally hung up. I was afraid I had turned down a legit opportunity until I searched the number and am now glad I hung up.
I received this message in Nevada so they are working all of the US. I didn't answer and they left a message on the answering machine, press 1 for an interview and press 9 to be taken off their hiring list.
I received the same call around 7pm eastern standard time. I am one of the lucky ones and did not send a resume' to them or any other job search company, other than Monster.com. Apparently Monster.com is doing the same thing as careerbuilders.com. They did not say what company they were. I referenced the local contact they gave me and there was a Liberty National business located in this business park.Total scam. Don't give ANY information to them. I also got another call today from American Heritage about selling the same insurance. Not sure if there related or if was just a coincidence.
It's not spam. They are just recruiting. On careerbuilder.com you have to make your resume private or else it's public for employers to see. It makes it seem sketchy because of that stupid automated voice.I put mine up a couple of days ago and all kinds of insurance places are trying to suck me in... but it's just that they want you to sell stuff for them.
