Keep getting calls from this number saying it is an inmate calling collect since 3/14/12. I do not accept the charges. Was really upset when one of the calls came in at 7:10 a.m. How do I stop these calls? Someone who had this phone number before us must have had a lot of debt because we also get a lot of debt collection companies calling for them.
Thank you Joe. I have a son in a safe p facility and it is changing his life. It's nice to know that even those who haven't been there give the ones who have a break. I like that you talked about God. I haven't seen another post that did. Troy, and my son will be better people for what they have been through.
Got a call on my cell phone from this number. Caller ID says it's a number from Dallas TX but the recorded message said it was a collect call from an inmate at El Dorado County (California) jail and that if I accepted, $9.95 would be charged to my phone. I don't know a "Justin" that would be calling me collect from jail so I am assuming it is a wrong number or some sort of scam.
Call from a correctional facility in Nueces County, TX. I disallowed the connection and filed a complaint w the FCC.
Five calls today. I answered the first two. Both were collect calls from Jenny at the Marion County Jail. Of course, I didn't accept. Don't have any close person named Jenny.
I get the calls, too, both from inmates and from debt collectors. I am wondering, is yours a Tracfone, That's when my trouble started. Never had that problem with Virgin Mobile but their phones kept breaking and the new ones are too expensive, so I ditched them. I wish they still had cheaper phones because this other service stinks.
Got one today. You'll hear a name and a correctional facility and some menu options. I recognized the name and the location and took the call. It was a "friend" who's got himself in jail and was calling me for help. Legitimate enough, but, if you look at other postings here, it's obvious that you've got a lot of people in jail dialing at random as a form of amusement. If you don't recognize the voice and the name and have good reason to think that that person is in that jail, don't accept the call. It's collect. You can push a key (8) for rates; I didn't. When I see the charge on my phone bill, I may get back. Someone else here was saying ten bucks. My friend was thinking more like $25.
