Recording saying that someone at the correctional facility wants to add our number to the list of people he can call. Inmate is calling a business First question: "Are you authorized to make decisions for this #- I answered yes- 2nd question was my name- Well then it automatically just added me. Asking if I have authority to make decisions and actually accepting that they can make calls here ARE NOT THE SAME THING- So be careful how you answer this. Tried to call the # back and got a private residence. This call is a little misleading.
It is a prison phone system. It can be a legitimate call from your imprisoned dirtbag relative. But most of the time it is the typical inmate call-forwarding phone scam where the caller says he dialed the wrong number and asks you to press *72 to conference call with the "right number". But that allows third party to rack up charges on your number. The initial call has an option to block all future calls like this. But if you try to call PCS to get them to block this nonsense, you are in for even more.
This number has been calling me 3 times a day for a week. It needs to end now. I'm not going to accept any charges, and I do not know anyone in any kind of jail. This is an inmate scam.
This number called our office number. The recording tricked me and I pushed #1 and it added my number. I do not want our number added and I can't call the number back. What can I do??
I just got like 5 calls from this number and it says its a collect call from an inmate at the Franklin County Correctional something. Which, I think, is in Ohio.
