PROVEST IS NOT A COLLECTION AGENCY!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT THEIR WEB SITE PEOPLE. YOU ALL HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS COMPANY.
I work @ Provest, we process service for forclosures, more than likely if you got a call we are trying to find you to serve you papers so the bank can take your home. Either way, if papers can't be served, the lawyers hired by the banks will publish your name on the city where the property is.
All of you are air-headed!!! We ARE a process servicing company!!! There is a REASON we are calling!!! We are NOT a scam, we are NOT a joke. We are a legal firm!!! You can call all the cops you want, but they wont do anything, because what we do IS legal!!! Dont you get it??? We serve papers, and we WILL do anything to do so!!! SO PAY YOUR BILLS!!! DUH!!! Dont be talking bad about this company, because we are NOT the ones who got you where you are!!!
I also work for ProVest, and like I said previously, If we are trying to call you, obviously, you aren't paying your bills!!! Stop trying to make us sound bad, because we are not!!!
Well, you called me and my house is not in foreclosure and I have never been late on a payment. I have no credit card debt or any other debt. Sounds like a scam.
Called my house looking to give a message for my neighbors. If you want to give a message to my neighbors, call my neighbors!!
our bills are paid so explain to me why they called my father and my husband to verify a phone number?
They called today to check my phone number, when I asked who the were and what this concerned she just asked the question again. After I ended the phone call I looked up what they do and found this site. I even called the company that handles my home lone, they said that they do not hire out, and they have had phone calls about ProVest before, they even told me not to give them anything. So this goes out to all the people on here that say they work for them, why call me, my car is paid off, zero credit card debt, house is current if not paid ahead, no outstanding bills at all. Please ProVest employees answer the question.
You guys are being served with legal papers...I used to work for the company. They work for various mortgage companies, loan agencies, Wells Fargo...?? yes. That is their client. It is usually dealing with foreclosuresGoogle the company and look at news stories. They are a legit company. In fact, the largest processing company. So if they are looking for you...sucks to be you!! :)
Received call from that number 26Aug08.Didn't answer. My 'voice message' fm them was a hangup.Just so you all know, there are commercial databases out there available to those who purchase their services. Those databases are based on info gleamed from credit/charge card applications where YOU provide 'references' (friends, relatives, neighbors), YOUR SSNs, DOBs, etc. Your neighbors' info is retrieved from paid-for USPS databases (addresses near yours). Then they go back into these other commercial databases (i.e. AutoTrak, Lexis/Nexis) and simply run/retrieve other addresses, names, SSNs, DOBs, relatives and their info, etc). It's pretty simple stuff (all linked by SSNs). Some of the companies such as ProVest probably buy 'collections' in bulk where other companies have been unsuccessful in collecting. Some are just scam artists calling/mailing in bulk, hoping to scare someonw into paying 'long-forgotten' bills/late fees, etc. (my daughter encountered one of those two years ago). The latest thing is these companies trying to get people who unknowingly bought 'counterfeit' embroidery files on eBay (illegal to sell; not to purchase, by the way...I've since found out). They say they are representing many sewing/embroidery companies who will sue for damages unless you give them $300-$600 (i.e.) now (they allegedly got eBay to turn over bulk buyers' records).Don't get scared...don't argue with them.If you have caller ID, just don't answer any unrecognized calls or return any mailings.Don't let your curiosity get the best of you.Don't threaten them...I'm sure they've heard it all and get a good laugh out of it.Now, if they start calling/mailing you at work...that's a different ball game and is against the law. Then you should contact your BBB and Secretary of State...whatever is appropriate in your area.
