This call was actually a recorded survey to make sure that our business got the phone books that were recently delivered. These companies usually do this to ensure that the temp workers that they hire are actually delivering the phone books that they are turning in on their pay sheets to the company, instead of "delivering" a bunch of Yellow Pages to a convenient dumpster, and then getting paid and disappearing. Even though we rarely use the phone book anymore, sometimes it comes in handy (doorstop, bug flattener, really heavy Frisbee, etc.). If you collect them over time you can use packing or Duct(Duck?) tape and build a free desk!

Odd, this number has called my CELL phone twice in one day. The problem is....my cell phone is paid for and registered with my employer but they are calling to make sure I got my HOME phone book? How would they know that this is MY cell number? I don't believe it's coincidence. See - I recently placed an online order at Walmart.com - listing my home address but my cell as my home phone - suddenly I'm bombarded with junk emails AND these calls - immediately after my order? Hmmm.....fishy.

My caller I'd shows this company as: Certified Audit so what would that have to do with magazines?Be careful talking to these people!

When I get my payroll check from yellow pages It sure looks like the sender is SBC (west coast). We are part of the phone company. And for enough money the phone numbers are SOLD! Dumb a$$H!!

This number called me and let the phone ring at least 10 times. They referred to themselves as CAC. After 10 rings my phone answerer says "Please enter the access code." It immediately cuts them off. I never answer any of these calls, thanks to Caller ID.

If you have a home phone, then it is a company that you are doing business with and any company you have a business relationship can call you. For me it was a recorded message, wanting to see if I had received my phone book. I answered a few questions, did I receive the phone book, was it in good condition, etc. I know someone who works in management for a company that delivers phone books, and this is how they determine if the people they hire to deliver their book should get paid, or did they just take the books and dump them in the trash.

Phone books. Okay. But, just out of curiosity, can you remember the last time you actually opened a printed phone directory? Me, either.

Called my DNC land line, did not answer, no idea who, what, etc
