Indian guy said they are getting error messages from my computer....I told him not to call again and hung up.
Cannot stand these people, I would love to know how to make them stop calling me. I've argued, I've asked them for what company they work, etc. The guy today told me that he was in New York, I laughed for a good 20 seconds over that one. He kept interrupting and talking over me and ignoring my questions, then the last time I asked him what company he works for, he told me good-bye and hung up. The last one who called me actually insulted me quite a bit when I questioned how he knew that my computer was doing this and why I should trust him. He went off about he's a computer expert and I'm not, to which I of course responded "How do you know I'm not?" I'm not, but I'm also not an idiot. If anyone has found any way to get them to stop calling, please share. I'm also already on the "do not call" registry, and telling them not to call me does not work. Annoying.
Get a phone number from google voice. I've had mine for over a year. Start giving out that number instead of your real one. You can have it reroute the calls to your home number or your cell phone but the person calling won't know your real phone number, only the google phone number. Then you can go on the google voice website and block any number that is annoying you. Only drawback is you have to remember to go online to check your voicemail if you've given that phone number to people you know. I always forget.
We started receiving these yesterday. We have caller ID so we never pick up if we do not recognize the number/name. This helps tremendously! Have enjoyed reading the humorous comments. Those of you who get upset - try not to "them" push your buttons (pardon the pun). We have a speaker phone so I just push it twice (pick up - hang up). Figure that will at least get them a possible international size phone bill for making the connection. Maybe not, but I feel better about it. Don't have a speaker phone? Just pick up the receiver and hang up. No screaming. No raising your blood pressure. Ya'll have a nice day out there, ya hear?
Two calls in two days from this number, 1st time I lied ~ said that I didn't have a computer, today I said it again and he called me a liar and said he knows I do because he is getting information from it!!!!!!!!!!! he also claimed to be from Microsoft, I just hung up. I will make sure that I check caller ID before answering from now on . 999 isn't even a real area code. This electronic "stuff" is getting out of hand.
This number has shown up 5 times ni the past 24 hours on my Caller ID. I have not answered.
If repeat calls are received (mine are displayed on phones and TV if on), I normally screen calls and let them go to an answering machine if I don't recugnize the number or caller. If i'm occaasionally bored when a 999 call cmes in I may pick up and answer as if I were in Italy...."Pronto!". That will usually result in nothing more than a dial tone.
Keep getting calls from this number. No one at the other end but after a while a voice says Goodbye.Very annoying!
