I think this number is some type of scam..they hang up if one does not answer..which I did not-I tried to find out where the number is from and it is not a valid area code.
Someone has called from this number every night for a week. They never say anything. I am on the donotcall list. What can I do to end these harassing calls?
Have been getting calls daily from this number for a few weeks starting at 8am to 9pm. Have requested do not call but the telemarketer just hangs up. Also sometimes I get calls where the only response from them is a recorded "goodbye" I have been told at various times that the call was on behalf of Microsoft but I never let it go further than that before I said I was not interested, etc. Have reported complaints to Do Not Call Registry and FTC. We'll see...
Gettng these repeat calls - no one there. They call 3 - 4 times a day. has been going on a few weeks
You people should be ashamed of themselves. Does anyone know how to stop these people? And I use that description loosely.
he told me to do that too! "Look at your C-T-R-L" I was curious to see what he wnated me to do, so I followed his instructions up to a point. I unplugged my internet connection just as a percaution. These people must think we're idiots, but it only shows how dumb they are. Dumb people often think they are being very clever. hahahaha
he directed me to look at my application errors. Hahaha, the he tried to convincet to log on to a website. hahaha nope! I said i was going to his website, though I was really just listening to him on speaker phone, so my friends could hear. He was soliciting some service to "get rid of errors" for 150 bucks. I told him, "these errors are minor problems that happen with any computer. Why would you assume I do not know that. I can fix all the problems with my computer for free and, if I need a new computer, I could by one for 90 dollars and us the programs I already own, so tell me exactly how you are any help at all."He didn't even understand what he was attempting to explain to me.At that point, HE hung up on ME. HAHAHA I guess he couldn't handle the heat.
I wonder if we all have something in common. I had a virus on my computer. It is called a whistler bootkit. I fixed the problem yesterday. It is very suspicious that I got this call the day after I deleted such an aggressive form of malware. The call was asking to me to change settings on my computer and a visit an unknown website.Micorsoft.com assisted me with the problem. A whistler bootkit is not easily detected...it is a form of spyware. Look it up for more info...and go through safe means of detecting it. Microsaft can help, so can Avast.com. Avast antivirus preforms boot-scans, which scan your computer before the computer reboots. This is the only way I detected the virus and deleted it, but dont take my word ofr it. Discuss it with a trusted professional. Some one with superior computer knowledge should follow the instructions of these scam artists, to see if they can get a lead on them.
