I had been calling an 800 number from work, and reached the company I was trying to reach. I was following the prompts in their menu when all of a sudden I was told that there was a new National number and I would need to call 10-15-15-8000. Since this didn't sound like any number I recognized (or even the area code of where the place I was calling was actually located), I didn't call. I tried the 800 number again and this time waited for an operator instead of following the prompts. When I told the girl what had happened she said she had never listened to the menu herself but that she didn't recognize the number either.
9/13/10 Received my regular ATT phone bill. I too had a charge for the #10 15 10 800 (101 515 8000) in the amount of $7.46. Not knowing that this was a slamming call I proceeded to call the "QUESTIONS "# 1 800 433 4518. A sweet sounding female at that number was very accommodating, She said not to worry because they would send me a refund check for a full $7.46 refund but to go ahead and pay ATT the full amount and that I should receive the refund in 7-10 days..After thanking her and hanging up I began to feel that this was a very strange way of doing business. Now I suspect that I will never receive the so called refund check. After checking the internet and finding this sight I assume that my suspissions were correct. I will be calling ATT today to hear what they have to say. I have been a ATT customer for all of my life. (79) years. If they will not resolve this issue I will discontinue their service and find a phone company that cares. I would suggest that others consider doing the same.
Called the 888-295-6524 help # listed on an achiever paper shredder looking for repair parts & got a garbled message to call 10 15 15 8000 for the new # but it would cost $5.49. I never heard of a 101 area code so looked on line & came to this site. I never called the 101 #, I've had enough aggravation with phone companies lately, I'm not not looking for any more. I'll toss the shredder like everyone else & go buy a chinese one from Walmart.
While talking to an Ameritrade broker he told me to call their other office at 101 515 8000. I got a inaudible response in Spanish and an extra charge on the AT&T bill for $7.19 from ILD Teleservices. ILD Teleservices' website brags about their ethics. Please have ILD Teleservices shut down.
I just spoke with ATT. What a joke! It took 3 calls and about 45 minutes to finally get this thing straightened out. ( I hope) They will suspend the unauthorized charges, but I must call the offending company and get a confirmation number and then call ATT back and give THEM the confirmation #.
My husband and I had a charge of $13.02 from OAN Services tacked on to our telephone bill, I called their number, 1-800-944-0171, and was told that the charge was for Nevada directory assistance, and the number was 101-515-8000. Scam? You bet it is. They tried to covince me that someone in my home had used this service. Since there is no one but my disable husband and I living here, I had a few choice words for them, and told them they could scratch for any payment from us. What really ticked me off was the fact the our telephone service provider just lets anyone tack charges on to our bill (this is the second time it happened to us). Any suggestion as to how we can stop this from happening?
Just got a fraudulent 3rd-party charge "Crammed" onto our phonebill associated with ILD Teleservices. Called the company to have the bogus charge removed. They were uncooperative and even tried to get more personal information out of us. The phone company was not helpful either with a "you deal with it" attitude. Everyone start reporting these companies, including the phone company if they give you bad support, to the FTC and Atty Gen's offices. This rampant garbage has to stop.
What is this about? I have asked this company to not accept any calls from my phone as I do not want nor do I need their services. How do I get them to stop?
I just had the same scenario played on me - also OAN. They could not tell me who made the charge, neither could Verizon. OAN did give me another number to call, for service@calling10.com, which also said they were just passing the charges through. Sort of like unpealing an onion. Verizon told me that FCC regulations require them to put such charges on customer bills - no questions asked. Verizon did take the charge off of my bill. OAN said they would take the charge off of my bill. Calling10 said they would take the charge off of my bill and send a check. Getting after the FCC and/or FTC and filing fraud complaints may be the only way to handle this - if then.
