I was trying to reach a company at their (800) # and it gave me that same message about their nation wide number is now 10 - 15 - 15 - 8000. I didn't recognize that area code and it seemed very fishy. Good thing I looked up the number online and saw all these postings about it.
I received a product I did not order (and my credit card was charged for it) that was mailed to my former address. The packing slip had my old address and my old phone number on it. When I called the company, they also had an email address listed as mine that was not mine. When the customer service phone rep (obviously in India) gave me an 800 number to report the fraud, that number led to a recorded message telling me to call 1015158000. Looking up the phone number (before calling it) led me to your site. Now what?!
I don't know if I would want a refund in the form or a check as then they have your phone number, address and bank account when you deposit your check. And a slimy company that is charging your phone number, well they may sell that information. Ask for a credit to you phone statement. Just a thought.I click on a google adword for insurance leads at local insurance and got a number 800-903-0197. When I called got the recording. So I then when to the www.localinsurance.com website it is netquote and it looks like there google adword page got hacked or the number got redirected. I email them about it as they will lose customers. PS: off topic... If you fill out a onlone form for insurance/mortgage quotes and don't want to be called just put in a fake name and nearby address like Mickey/Minnie Mouse 123 main st, and we will know it is a fake quote. netquote is a lead companies sell you information to people like me to sell insurance. I don't like calling people that don't want to be called. They can sell it up to 8 to 10 times. Google a local indepent insurance agent or mortgage person that repersents many companies or ask for references from you church and friends for a agent. Most insurance agents are free to use and there is no price difference.
that's a load of bull - i've dealt with ild through work with charges being crammed on our bills. Funny how you say you have no involvement in the cramming, yet ILD just so happens to have a recording of one our our employees "verifying" the illegitimate charges- how did you obtain that recording if you're not involved in the scam?? I know how your system works, you call to verify company information with a live operator using any one of our employees willing to answer your yes and no questions, then your "recording" proof is a robotic prompt and you put the yes and no answers in order to make it appear that the employee authorized charges. ILD is nothing but SCAM.
Got my bill from AT&T and saw an extra charge of $ 7.41 for directory assist. Call their 800 number, girl said she would block that number and they would send me a check. Not holding much faith in getting a check. She said someone called that number on a night that I was in the fire station working my 24 hour shift. No one else lives in my house or has keys to get in. Sounds like a scam to me also. Most people don't always look at their bills. My bill is always the exact same every month, so it was easy to spot the extra charge.
I was called and said i was being sued for a debt and was giving 18006735172 for customer service then they told me for $4.99 i could call 1015158000 to reach the new number... this is a scam and i hope they get caught
i dont answer calls that have no name on my caller id so how did they do this i have been charged 13.02 for the last 2 months
Do not remember a telephone call, however, the telephone number 671-20 UMG*Dentpr (800 1440978) telephone payment $10.95 was deduct from my checking account. Do not know how they got my information.
Got a call at 8 am 13Feb2008 from Caller ID # 913-563-5523 / Caller ID description: WFNNB. When I answered a woman asked for my wife by name. When I asked who was calling they said Victoria's Secret (my wife often makes purchases from them, so it sounded legit). When I said she wasn't home, they asked for my name (I didn't give it to them... I asked why they needed that). Without skipping a beat, she asked what our address was. I didn't tell them, saying "Why? don't you know it?". Again, without skipping a beat, she said, "Please have your wife call us?" I said "And this is in reference to...?" She responded "Oh, she'll know" and gave me the 1-800-655-7072 number to call. When my wife did, we got the odd request too dial 1015158000 "Directory Assistance number" which of course we did not do.Any time someone is this evasive, don't be a sucker... DO NOT give them ANY information. Any legitimate business will be very up front about why they are calling you.
