You can go online and register your phone number on the "Do Not Call Registry". I don't know if that would help but since they opened up all cell phones for advertisers to call you should register your phones. Specially because you will get billed for those unwanted calls. Hope that helps.

claims a directory assisted call, 11/26/07 at 5:58pm there is only my wife and I and neither of us made this call. i have called the oan billing inquiry # 1 800 944 9646 they were not open. will call again, I am paying the Verizon bill less the OAN charges

Allways suspicious when its a 800 phone number with a new number mmmm... always check. SCAMS are everywhere!This is the second time with wierd phone numbers - WATCH OUT!!!

I actually called the phone company and told them that if they did not get an authorization from me I would not be paying for that portion of the phone bill. I also asked for a block to be put on my phone so that I do not get these types of calls coming in or going out. My husband and I both work and on that particular day no one was home to receive the call. Yes, all I got on my machine was static. Another time I got a hang up. This may put me in delinquency but I let them know that I have asked several times and that they should have a record of it. Since all calls are recorded the phone company is already aware of what is going on. Talk to them. It might help.

Got my bill, found a $7.57 directory assistance call. On the day in question we were staying at Disney World. As some of the others have reported, tried to say someone in our empty house called their 101 515-8000. We are to get a credit, I hope my future does not count on recovering.

I always check my phone bill carefully for third party billing scams. I never used caller assistance but this came up. There was a 7 dollar charge from 10 10 15 800. I called up the billing service ILD and they say they will mail me a check and block any future charges through this number.I am quite a solitary person, I never call-out of my main phone and I haven't used a 411 service for at least 3 years. This is obviously a criminal scam, there is no way possible it could be a mistake. Be nice when you call ILD, they appear to be a middleman.

I just got a $7.87 charge on my Verizon bill for the same thing and same phone number. I called Verizon and they put a block on my account so no one else can charge something to my phone bill. But the painful part is that I have to call this OAN company and request they pay or credit Verizon. If they don't, then Verizon will still want us to pay it after 90 days.

I dialed customer care number for SIRIUS 1-888-549-7474. Was directed to call 101 515 8000. When I called this number said was a new national number for directory assistance. Hung up at that point.Redialed SIRIUS number and was connected to them.

This company has some creative ways to get people to dial that number 10 15 15 8000 and get billed for calling the number. I called an 800 number. The company interrupted the call and stated what soudned like a messasge, "This is NOT the number of the party you are seeking, the new number is ten fifteen fifteen eight thousand." Take your original bill and file a complaint with the Federal Communications Comission. The number to the FCC Complaint line is 888 225 5322. You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Comission, www.ftc.gov. Make sure to get a case number. Contact your telephone provider and advise you were a victim of cramming/slamming, explain the circumstance, the number, date and time. Give them the FTC and FCC case numbers.
