Just got a call on my cellphone. Not sure why I answered, but I did. A man with a very thick accent - and possibly a speech impediment - said he was calling from the "U S Government". Kept asking if I could HEAR him. Yeah, I could HEAR him just find. Understanding what he was saying - no, that I could not do. I hung up and will block the number.

Yea... Im on a pay as you go, so it cost me. I have friends in DC, so thought it was one of them trying to contact me so I answered... definitely thick Indian accent. I could not understand what he was saying other than something about a $9,000 grant. I told him I didn't need money, I have too much as it is its falling out of my mattress and hung up.

I got scammed by the same people i no im stupid they made me pay 3000$ to western uion and wen the money wasnt in my account they said my state is not a tax free state and i had to pay 500$ to cover the taxes of it being so much money i paid then still wasnt in my account so called bac and they said wats my social i said fuc no u not gettin my so ial ser urity # and they hung up pls help me get these fucs thx

Same as the rest. Male, asian, offered to recover $9000 for me. then hung up.

I got the call this morning. I let him go through his speech, picking out a few words here and there that were distinguishable, and knew right away it was a scam. He made the mistake of asking me what I would do with the money. I told him I would use the money to hire a lawyer to go after phone scammers. He chuckled and hung up.

I got one 26/08/2014 at 1300 while receiving an automated call from VA. Left no message, and didn't answer when I called back. Directly and intentionally wasting my time.Honestly, if the phone companies can't bother to screen them out and/ or press charges it's time to start dropping services. This one has been around a while. The crime keeps being reported, and obviously no one is interested in doing anything about it.

I got the same call about 10 min. ago. I spoke to the person but when she identified herself working for our Government, I stopped her in her tracks. Told her whatever it was she could take it to Obama & shove it up ... well you know the rest. I hung up & blocked that #.
