Just got a call from 202-210-0054. When I said hello - they hung up. Decided to look up the 202 area code and saw all these scam warnings. Good to know!
Caller said was from US government and I was eligible to receive free money. heavily accented to the point where she didn't understand what I was saying. I told her to remove me from the list and she said "no no no" I asked her what company she was with so I could report the call and she said " I will call you back later"
I don't answer those calls that I don't recognize.....therefore It goes to voicemail if they don't leave a message I don't return the call to that number I'll look it up instead I'm smarter than that duh
Man with Indian accent said I was pre-qualified for a government grant to go to college.. Said he worked for the United States government. I told him that I was on the do not call list and not to call me back. He started shouting obscenities at me and I hung up on him.
White Pages lists the number as Perry Holley, Sprint Nextel mobile phone number Washington DC 20024. They didn't leave a message. Current Caller ID app I have shows Perry Holley in Washington DC. From your comments, I marked the number to be blocked. Thanks for posting.
Your method of giving them the number from an old gift card or empty debit card is good for wasting their time but reporting them to the FTC does nothing because despite the federal law against such calls, the FTC simply will not bother investigating any of the millions of reports that they get -- As least not unless the prefix in front of your name happens to be Rep or Sen.If the FTC actually gave a damn about enforcing the law "Card Services" would have been out of business at least a year ago.
My husband and I both received this same call this morning. The person was told as soon as the message began to never call this number again. They each quickly hung up. I don't know why our lovely fed govt can't do something to stop this harassment!!
Have had several phone calls from this number. Usually mid-morning. I don't answer since I am at work. NO message is ever left. I tried once to return the call to see what it is and the caller is "unavailable". How convenient. The do not call list doesn't seem to mean anything to whomever this happens to be.
