call never leaves a message,dont know why they would call me

I answered once, and they asked for me by name, then told me they were calling regarding my account in collections. I dont have any accounts in collections. Then they asked for the last four digits of my social security number. Duh, for real?!? Still calling me everyday, even though I told them never to call again.

constant calling my phone. I have no accounts in collection. They are even calling our business phone line.

Portfolio Recovery....They are known for buying charged off dead debt that has gone years past the statutes of limitations. If anyone that has had their sol pass and they promise these people anything you may have just restarted the clock on the sol. Best bet is that if you do not owe this debt, ask them to stop calling and they should give you an address to send a letter by certified mail to stop all calls that you do not owe the debt. Also do not agree to anything. They may even try to trick you into saying that in order to do that they need your permission to be put on a list...do not say yes...they want you to authorize them to allow their auto dialer to call driving you to give up. It is against the law for them to use autodialers without your permission and they could be fined for every single time they do this.These people are also known to do "Hard Hit" inquiries to your credit reporting agencies such as Transunion (seems to be their favorite to start with). This is not legal if you do not owe or they know it is uncollectable past the statute of limitations, but everytime they do these hard hit inqueries is hurts your credit score.REPORT THE DATES TIMES AND NUMBERS TO YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND THE FTC,BBB. PORTFOLIO IS KNOWN FOR LYING AND TRICKING YOU INTO RESTARTING THE SOL...HANG UP AND SEND THE LETTERS MAYBE CALL A LAWYER. THEY MAY END UP HAVING TO PAY YOU FOR THEIR UNLAWFUL ACTS.

These idiots call me nonstop, get them to stop from one number they just use another, I dont owe anyone a dime and I have instructed them not to call, sent the registered "cease and desist" letter but to no avail. I get calls from numbers such as "Unavailable" which I cant block, or they call from one of their 50 other numbers. Some of them get down right demanding, wanting to get your social security number, If I owed a debt you would think they already had it. And if you ask for the number on the supposed debt they are trying to collect they wont tell you. What a bunch of Idiots . Must be real stupid for working for that bottom feeding outfit..

Non stop harrassing calls for these dingbats. I dont owe anyone a dime. Cant get them to stop even with the cease and desist letter.

The are so stupid - if they would communicate like human beings and tell you what the call is for - and what this is all about - maybe just maybe they could find a person to cooperate - but at this rate - day and night - non one in their right mind should even talk to them.

The government did do something to protect us - up to a point. They put a stop guard in place for us, we just have to find it for ourselves or go to an Attorney which most of us can't afford to do. That is where the Internet comes into play - if you do the research (and you have to look several different ways) you will find that all we have to do is send them a "Cease and Desist" Letter. Once you send that they can only contact you 1 more time to tell you what they are going to do - usually they won't, then every contact is worth $1,000.00 so document it well (All calls - Caller ID, Cell Phones, Letters, etc.) then you will need to contact an attorney - and there are some that will do that for you, they even advertise on the Internet. One case I read about collected over $100,000. Here is a sample letter:Cease and Desist Letter Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested # _________________________________ Date Name and Address REF: Account # _________________Re: Name of Original Creditor Account ************XXXXDear Debt Collector:Pursuant to my rights under federal debt collection laws, I am requesting that you cease-and-desist all phone calls to me, as well as my family and friends, in relation to this and all other alleged debts you claim I owe. Please pass this letter on to ANY and ALL other Collection Agencies that you assign this account to.USC 1692c, 805(c):(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION. “If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt...”You are hereby notified that if you do not comply with this request, I will immediately file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Oregon Attorney General's Office. Civil and criminal claims may be pursued.Let this letter also serve as your warning that I may utilize telephone recording devices in order to document any phone calls or telephone conversations that we may have in the future. By the way, there is a statute of limitations on debt owed. You have to research this for the state you live in. If the debt is older than the statute of limitations don't let them trick you into paying or anything else! I believe you can't be sued for anything that is over the statute of limitations - Check it out by the state law.

When you send them a Cease and Desist Letter it stops the calls from all of their phone numbers. See my post with an example of the letter attached.
