Scammers calling stated that I have a tax problem and should call to deal with it or I would be arrested! Yes I have a problem with my taxes I pay to much otherwise nope!

I was on chat with a Amazon Customer Service rep and they asked for my number so someone could call me to help resolving my issue. This is the number that the Amazon rep immediately called me back from.

Called our biz landline 11:06 a.m. 10/31/17 PST. No message was left. We do sell on Amazon. Will see what transpires if "Amazon" indeed needs to contact us...

I received a missed call on my cell phone from that number, there is no voicemail left. But after that I received a email from Amazon resolving a login problem with my account.

Claimed to be Amazon.com. So if it is really Amazon, then whoever in charge of CS is bonehead idiot. They should NEVER use IP lines as the Voice ID cannot identify them. The guy over the line has TERRIBLE English (my 80 year old Chinese neighbor speaks better English). And training was absolutely ridiculous, started out asking my name, address, Amazon login email for "verification". The person talks nothing like a trained professional but a dumb hacker.

I requested support from Amazon Web Services (AWS - their cloud division) and received a call from their support. It is a legit number.Of course, someone can spoof caller-ID however the number itself is legit.

This is apparently a legitimate Amazon.com number. I didn't pick up, because I didn't recognize it and wasn't expecting them to call me. But I had just asked Amazon to solve a problem for me. I was expecting an email. They emailed me an hour later:"Tried calling the seller but it was unsuccessful. I will be sending e-mail instead."So maybe there is a scammer out there spoofing the number, but it's also Amazon's number.

This is Amazon Customer Support and was a legitimate response to an inquiry that I made online.

This is indeed an Amazon support number, but Amazon needs to learn that people tend not to answer calls that identify as "unknown". Well, I don't, anyway. Completed my case with them by e-mail.
