Just got a call from this number about 15 minutes ago. Everyone do yourself a favor: Do not answer it and do not call it back. By answering it and pressing 2 to be removed, you are actually confirming the number is valid and you will continue to receive calls. The number you are seeing on your Caller ID is obviously spoofed so calling it back often gets you the disconnected message. Also, many people are wondering how this SCAM company got your number - the answer is simple: randomly. I just got my service recently as well and no one has my number other than immediate friends and family. There are programs out there to randomly dial numbers - telemarketers use it all of the time. Keep in mind that if you just got service with a cellular provider your number might be recycled (someone previously had your number) and they may have been successful at calling your number in the past. Don't answer & don't call back...just ignore it everytime it comes in and eventually it should stop. My rule of thumb is I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. Very often, these scammers do not leave messages so ignorance is the best solution :)
They spoof there caller ID, so the number you see on your caller ID or that you get via *69 is a fake number. They spoof so they can be harder to trace with their scamming activity.
many companies that call out like this have equipment that will make the call show their preferred caller id information, due to many want to show the company main number and not the individual phone the rep, or in this case, the auto-dialer, is calling fromsome use it so you do not know what the real number is and make it harder to verify the claims or identity of the callerkind of like the emails with the claim about bankers trying to trnasfer millions or that you won millions in a lottery but has a hotmail or gmail or yahoo email address
Hit 1 some guy answered asked me how He could help me i relplied ya'll called me he then hung up on me
I checked my cell to see if there were any messages and seen it was a Mississippi number. I thought it may have been the AFB trying to call me to tell me that something happened to my fiancee. I called the number back and said that the number was disconnected. Lucky he is okay. however these people are I hope they are caught and imprisoned.
Yeah, they called didn't leave a message. I called back, it rang once and then went to an answering machine with a recording of the "this number is no longer in service." I'm sure that the number is in service, they just have that 'not in service' message for their greeting. Who ever it is needs to go get a real job and get a life...
I was half asleep when they called, and then I called back later, and then the operator said that the number was disconnected, and then I kept calling, and kept saying the same thing. I am only 13, so why did they call me, Im too young for this [***].
Received call. I did not answer. They did not leave a voice mail.
when i called the number back, it says this number is no longer in service.
