Yes they buy debt....they don't serve a summons and they get a default judgement....by the time you figure it out there is a garnishment attached.....scumbags.....I have a buddy who works for the local DEA office in Centennial and they are watching ole brian and sonny closely

Actually any attorney that collects debts regularly must comply with all FDCPA rules. If they violate any of them they are still responsible for their actions.

There are so many cases in which this happens. Its unfortunate and illegal. They've been threatening me with legal action if I don't pay up but refuse to send me anything in the mail to my correct address. How nice... I'll see you in hell Gilbert, where the devil will have his way with you.

I still don't get why debt collectors come on this site to defend themselves, its utterly pointless. You already harass people over the phone, why do it here as well. There are good people out there that have fallen on hard times and are actually unable to pay their debt, they are NOT trying to get out of it or run away from it so please stop accusing people of doing so. Nobody deserves to be treated with such disrespect even if they do owe the debt.

I already have a massive headache from dealing with their illegal debt collection tactics. I've read up on the information provided on the FTC website that states attorneys that regularly collect debts must follow the same rules as any other debt collection agency. I was just repeating what it says on the government website so perhaps the government is uneducated then.

They are at it again using a new name (Peter Rebelo) and a new phone number (cell - 720-25-3270). The are after my son for a debt that was paid off last December to US Bank. Thank you all for your information. It prevented me from actually paying them.As for those of you that seem to urge the rest to go ahead and pay up even though you know not real ... I wonder if they are actually from The Law Offices of Standley and Associates.US will be called to confirm that my sons debt was paid off and, in the off chance is was not, we will deal with them and not these guys!!

i am filing a complaint with the Attorney General against James Standley and a complaint against "Molly", "Gilbert", and "Brian" with the Fair Credit Act Association and with the people who certify collection agents in Colorado. This office has broken several laws with me: threatening to gatrnish my wages, take me to court, not giving me their address over the phone, etc. This is also a USBank "debt" from an account number which was reported as stolen by the bank. Standley is on probation, I urge everyone to file a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office to get him suspended again for the same reason, failing to supervise his collectors. Also, GTF Services, LLC, the company Brian Quintana works for does not have an office in Colorado, where he is calling from. Shady. They are jerks. Do not answer your phone. File a complaint, and send a Debt Validation letter demanding proof that they own your debt. Do not lay down for these people, stop them from taking other innocent people's money. Oh, and, "hey [***]," aka Brian- stop writing on this thread- no one is scared of you!
