I was online sending my dad some money through Paypal and before the transaction went through, it gave me a 4 digit code and said they would contact me and ask for this code to verify my identity. I got the call within seconds, it was from this number and an automated message asked for the 4 digit code. Afterwards, I went back to the webpage and continued and voila, transaction successful! So yes, this is definitely Paypal but I doubt they would randomly call you so beware of rogue calls.
Just to confirm something I have not seen mentioned yet. This is a Paypal number 100%. How do I know? I just changed my Paypal password to something even more secure and received this email from Paypal right after my password change:+++++++++++++++++++++Dear "XXXYYYZZZ" LLC,You just changed your password. If you didn’t change your password, give us a call right away at 402-935-7733.Just a reminder:- Never share your password with anyone.- Create passwords that are hard to guess and don’t use personal information. Be sure to include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.- Use different passwords for each of your online accounts.Sincerely,PayPal+++++++++++++++++++++So, it's Paypal for all the naysayers or non-believers on here :)
This number is pay pal. Got a call today from them. They were verifying a transaction I made yesterday. Since it was a large amount and my first transaction with that vendor they called to make sure it was legit. This is the sign of a good company looking out for those who use their services.I can't believe the ignorance of many of the posters to this thread.
I joined a college paper writing site and legally said it was OK for them to bill me monthly as I thought that I would use their service. Now, I can't remember the service's name so I am stuck making monthly payments and cannot remember the site! How dumb is that???

This phone number is a legitimate PayPal number, whether the charge that is being reflected is legitimate or not is a separate matter but the representatives with PayPal were happy to assist me in determining this.

Strange news hat a National Co would call twice in less than half an hour, and not leave a message... And, while we have an upcoming Holiday, for 6 years, services have always been bumped a day without any calls.
