Didn't recognze the number so I didn't answer. It was PayPal, they left a voicemail message responding to an email I sent.
Here's a good one: I just received a bill for my stepmother who has been in an Alzheimer's facility for 8 years. She now has a "Paypal Smart Connect" account,(courtesy of some scammer) with charges coming to exactly $500.00 (coincidentally her credit limit on this account) and the phone number reference is 402-935-7733. Identity theft and fraud with his phone number.
It seems like it's being used by scammers to make their scams seem like valid charges. I was recently charged several hundred dollars on a credit card that wasn't even linked to my paypal. I contacted paypal by using that number and the representative said there wasn't anything charged to any of my accounts by Paypal. I have to close out my credit card and dispute these charges. While it may not be a scam number, the people using it may be scammers.
I got a call from this number just now. It purported to be from paypal, asking me to accept a new policy, etc. However, the thing is, I never gave Paypal the phone number at which they reached me. Therefore, I vote scam.

The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
