beware of any orders through PAYPAL *FROM NY INC 402-935-7733 CA. spent 1hour on the phone to be asked what my entire CC# was because they cant find transaction. Like id give up my whole card # when i'm disputing a charge! Buyer Beware...PayPal is NOT safe!
I had a transaction taken from my account that saysCHECK CRD PURCHASE 05/03 PAYPAL *YESKIDSDBA 402-935-7733 CA for $925I do not have an account with pay pal and have not received anything. Did anyone have any money automatically deposited into your account on the day you were victimized?
This is NOT Paypal. What happens is they will spoof the real paypal number (402 935 7733 is a 'real' number, but caller id isn't a determination of exactly what number is calilng you) and connect you to the real paypal. Then they will listen in on the conversation for information that identifies you, and use that to obtain access to your accounts in the future and charge you. Clever, but see through.
just got amex statement. Charges from 'PAYPAL *KNOWNHOSTLL 4029357733' and from 'PAYPAL *RICHARDMYER 4029357733' and from 'PAYPAL CIRTEXHOST 4029357733'Called amex and they said the charges were put on an old credit card that -oddly enough - I paid for Trend Antivirus last year. Well the card number isn't in use - hasn't been for a while yet the charges are on there. They told me not to pay them and they would resolve it. As well, i do have a Paypal account but it's not on an amex. I just checked all my previous purchases - none match the names nor the amounts.
Yes, this is a Paypal number. It's related to their credit card which is probably why the guy's wife got a call on a "personal matter". They use the last 4 digits of your ssn for id purposes. It is a legit number.Oh, and yes I'm sure because I just signed up for this and they called after I did to verify my information.

Seems to be a legitimate call from PayPal.Within 5 minutes of sending 2 payments via PayPal this morning, I got a call from this number. I ignored it, looked it up online here, called back, and got an automated prompt to enter the last 4 digits of my CC attached to PayPal. I did not want to give out this information, so I hung up. It seemed plausible, as I was using PayPal from an IP address that I haven't ever used before. This afternoon I sent another payment via PayPal. 5 minutes later, a call. I answer, it is a real person. She asks if I made transactions via PayPal that day; I confirmed that I had. She asked if I could tell her what the most recent one was. I tell her the name of the payee (a company) and the approx. amount. She had the exact amount (which I confirmed). No giving her any financial info/SSN/etc. Seems totally fine.
