This number showed up in my bank acct as a "PayPal PreHospital charge." Whatever that it I was charged $150 for it.
this must be a scam!! Companys are NOT going to call you, and ask for info, to your account.... Even IF you have someone from YOUR card company call, because of a problem, it is best to call them back, so YOU KNOW, you are speaking to your cards employees. YOU look the # up. Don't use a # they give you, how would you know, its correct. My call was a recording (RED Flag) asking for my pin # (RED Flag) then telling me they couldn't confirm my phone # (RedFlag) Well that is good, I don't want to conferm my # with you. This is NOT paypal... We do not have a paypal account!!! so how could I even have a pin # ???? Scam, just fishing for info, so the can put charges thru on your account. If they get just one piece of info, they can get more, and then your ID is theirs, and boy are you in trouble then! DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFO OUT OVER THE PHONE, OR EMAIL/FAX... EVERYONE NEEDS TO REPORT THIS # THAT CAN HELP GET THEM CAUGHT!!!
Not sure where so many of you are getting your info, but I received a small charge from this number on my credit card...because I told PayPal to charge it to confirm my Credit card with them and lift my withdrawel limit. I entered in the code on the charge and my card was confirmed on PayPals official site. So yes, it IS Paypal.
Got an email from "paypal" claiming: You told us that you have forgotten your PayPal password.Click the link below to verify this email address and create a new password: (Had a link in here that looked like a legit paypal link)If you didn’t request this email, please contact us at 402-935-7733.I did not forget my password. They didn't call me but they are trying to get me to call them. I logged onto my paypal account with no problem, no problems with my history, not a chance I am calling that number and there is no reason for me to have received this email, unless someone tried to login using my account. I reported the email to paypal.
Hi guys, here's what appears to be happening:Pay-pal's number is 14029357733.off the internet, the only info the scammers will give you is the Pay-Pal phone number, even though it is not really theirs. ther are internet phone software programs that allow you to change the number that you are calling from, so when people check to see who is calling, they think it's paypal. When you get off the phone with the scammer and call the number, it is pay-pal. I've used this software before. I forgot what it is called, it's something you pay for , not to expensive, my friend let me use it to call my girlfriend. I put in her ex's phone number cuz i wanted to see if she was still talking to him. i called her number from the internet program, she thought it was her ex calling and didn't answer. So i know the programs real.If you get anything suspicious from "pay-pal" please call the standard Pay-Pal # 1888-221-1161Pay-pal does call it's members if they see a lot of new or unusual activity. i sold a $5000 computer on eBay and got called by pay-Pal from this same number, and just today pay-pal called me because my monthly sales have been much higher than usual. The reason they call is to verify you are actually shipping the items you are selling, they may want to verify some tracking numbers with you. The problem with these calls is that the Pay-pal representatives are not clear as to why they are calling, who they are, or why they know all about you. They actually asked me for names of my suppliers ?????? pay-Pal, this is wrong, you need better customer service in this area. They are trying to make Pay-Pal safe by ensuring that sellers are really sellers providing the actual goods. But when you get the phone call, they sound like their crazy scammers trying to get your info. if you get the mysterious call, ask the rep if you can call them back and get their extension number, ask for an instant email from pay-pal, ask them to verify some of your account information, and to clearly state the exact reason and intent of their call. If they won't do this, they are not pay-pal but a scammer, tell them to lick the sweat off a camels balls and hang up. Hope this helps, NoonsterWhen you get scammed by someone, and buy something shady
they called me yesterday and today. I didnt answer either time. Yesterday the voicemail said "hi this is Katie from paypal, we will be emailing you", same thing today except the girls name was Pamela. After reading a ton on how after getting this call people were being charged unwarranted amounts on their credit cards, I called paypal, they said they didnt know anything about the phone number. But then i called both my credit card companies and requested new cards, just to be safe. Also changed my paypal password.I wont be using it online for anything other than ebay now.
