look, out of ALL customer service reps, talk to a PayPal one and you will be happy, they are the only ones i don't cringe when i talk to them, without question, am not even going to check, as i believe they are paypal
You guys are hilarious. This is a legitimate Paypal number. It shows up on your card statement when you pay via Paypal to another person who's not listed as a merchant. For example, you ordered a shirt from a friend and the friend allows you to pay him via Paypal, instead of listing your friend's info, Paypal lists the Paypal number instead.
I had a call from this number but couldn't figure out what the $100 charge was. Googled and based on the comments in this blog it occurred to me my husband made a donation to a charity.
This number is legitimate.I called and recording said that I reached Pay Pal Customer Service.
We just had several smallish charges to our American Express card, all listing eBay's address and using Paypal's phone number. However, the charges were from names mspeachez47, ride907AK and RobFortson under the name "MARK PAYPAL". Clever. These charges added up to around $3500. Luckily, Amex handled it before I even noticed. Amex has a great service that allows you to be notified anytime a transaction occurs in the absence of the card. I'm using it now!No transaction was over $200. Most were just under $100 -- $97, $98 and a couple $189. They're trying to fly under some limit. We've purchased nothing from eBay or Paypal for many, many months. And then, we use MY AMEX account, not my husband's. There have been no calls from the paypal phone number as others have received. Just charges to AMEX. Good luck to anyone who is having this issue. And don't let the morons who claim that these are legit charges get you down. For all we know they are scammers trying to convince people to ignore our reports.
I had a chare show up on my credit card for $25. I was ready to call my credit card and PayPal. Then I realized that I paid an organization for an event and they were using PayPal. That's why the charges show up as beng paid to PayPal and not to the organization.
Just did a reverse phone lookup on it.Owner: Inc PaypalAddress: Omaha, NE 68127I guess it's the real Paypal.
