They do read these messeges as I recieved a letter from Ron Gaal the owner saying that he was going to sue me if I did not take my posts down as it was affecting his business. He claimed that he has lost two contracts from people reading my post. Well that was the point and I am happy that I saved somone from having to deal with this company. Ron if you are reading this its a free world and there are thousands of comments about this company online people need to beware of you and your company or should I say COMPANIES as we all know that this is not the only scam you have ran. The Better Business Beaureu has warnings in regards to you and your companies you should be ashamed of yourself get off you high horse do some reading on consumer laws and peoples rights. I stand by everyword I say and it is my responsibility as a canadian consumer to make sure that others are not bullied and tricked by you.

Hi Stephanie, I worked for this company for 2 years right up to the first week of last month when everyone in the office had their paycheques bounce. Ron Gaal, owner of the Grocery Group ripped a half dozen employees off for their pay and that is thousands of dollars. He doesn't give a shyt whether you received all your order. He has a contract you signed and will try to enforce it in court if you don't pay. He's a crook and you should investigate the finance company you dealt with. When I left first week of March, not one order of food had been shipped to anyone all of February into March. There was no food in the warehouse and no guys working back there. Apparently Mr. Gaal didn't pay the suppliers. He is now changing the name of the company for the fourth time to try and dodge all the lawsuits coming his way. He and his wife Shelley Atkinson-Gaal who also works with him went on vacation for a few weeks while all this was going on so he's not worried about customers orders or employees paycheques that he owes. He's busy spending all our hard earned money.

They get there products from MichaelAngelos Grocery Store THey Deliver the food at an inflated Price these people are nuts that think they are having the meat custom cut it's pre cut with the standard thickness being 3/4 of an inch.

Anybody posting on this site saying there pleased with The Grocery Group are themselves trying to cover up there multi million dollar scam! Nobody fall for this as there real crooks and got a answer for anything. I got a call from a agent and heard alot of callers in the background and was suspicious as how can they hire so many at the phones and offer such great prices expecially on grade AAA grain fed cuts of meats!! I accepted a visit and upon arrival the next 2days noticed unlike other companies there was no advertising on his vehicle, he introduced himself as Jim came in had a seat and talked and gave us a flyer 10-1210 Markham Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1H 3B3 it looked legit and I flipped it open to view a list what was wrong was that he stated 10mnths worth of products 200lbs of meat for 10months? 6 boxes of cereal for 10mnths? 12 cans of soup for 10mnths? Umm excuse me I use more then that! There was also very little to choose from and I mentioned that theres products I use that are not listed that its not enough to choose from he said I should know the products I buy that are related to the ones listed to tell him so he can get them! Also mentioned that they were working on a program for IPAD,etc like going through grocery isles at the store and choosing the products you use, EXCUSE ME you been in business for 30yrs and have not done that yet or at least made something besides 3pages of groceries? I kept becoming more suspicious expecially being asked for my social insurance card number it was time Jim left.. Stay away from these scammers people.

Your comment makes no sense as I used to work for them and they don't carry organic meat so how can you compare. As a telemarketer it was difficult because they lied about BBB rating and you would end up calling people who had dealt with them before who had problems or many people who were on the do not call list (which you can see from the fine that was imposed on them). In addition, they treated their employees like 'crap' and I broke many of the Ministry of Labor laws. STAY AWAY.

Even though I'm on the do not call list I received a call. Usually I just hang up on most telemarketers but this idea sounded like something that would work for my family and I. We made an appointment for a sales rep to come to our house. Well, the salesman just left my house an hour ago. Something didn't feel right. First they'll ask you all about how much meat you consume. They wouldn't reveal the price of meats to us despite my insistence. They just want to know how much you meat you eat. Then they'll move on to the other things like boxed and canned. While you're wondering where the hell you are going to store 10 months worth of boxes, cans, toilet papers, etc, they'll tell you that you can just pile it up but the meat comes in two deliveries :( He just sat there and punched number into a calculator and quoted me 4000 dollars for ten months worth of groceries. My eyebrows raised, I thought I could buy almost 2000 pounds of butchered beef for the same price, I questioned him again about the price of meat ... nothing. Part of the problem is that the company has changed their name many times over the years to get away from their bad reputation. When I worked there they were going by Shopco Foods and then a few months later changed it to Beefeater. Now I can see they have also since then been using Ontario Fine Foods and Grocery Group as their name.

I have just read your message regarding the grocery group. I as well have been short changed in the food that I received. I have had my lawyer send them a letter asking to be compensated for the missing food with no reply. I am now wanting to proceed forward with small claims court but now after reading your last statement, I am wondering if I would be able to? How do they have a bankruptcy protection?

I won't be ordering.
