When I get unwanted calls to my cell or home phone for someone not there I tell them the person they are trying to reach had died, and tell them to no longer call, then hang upNot sure its doing much good, but i shure as heck feel betterNow if i could just get that 'final warning' about getting lower credit card rates to be a real 'final call'. Press 1 does no good as they seem to have thier heads up thier posteriors when you tell them you wish to be placed on thier do not call list.Tellemarketers must be an American form of terrorism.
I have my number on the Do Not Call, but they still call. This number just called for the first time today. I have a smart phone so when I get a call I don't recognize, I save the number to contacts under "Z" and the number in which it comes in. I am up to Z23 now since I started doing this. Once I save the number, then I view the contact, select options and then check the "send incoming calls to voice mail" option. The call never is heard again. I check my recent calls from time to time and these calls are relentless. Sometimes as many as 5 or 6 times a day!! Thankfully they do not interrupt my day any more.
This was another of those "This is Rachel from Card Member Services" calls. Reported on donotcall.gov.
Not sure how these telemarketing recordings keep calling when I'm on the do not call list?! I get about 3 unsolicited calls a week from area codes I don't recognize. I always look them up and check them out. Caller ID is such a wonderful thing... don't know the number, I don't pick up! If all of us did this, wouldn't they stop using this tactic?
I have been receiving calls for the last 2 days from 480.982.3626 on my cell phone which is on the DO NOT CALL list. I do not answer. No message is left. If you call it back there is no name identifying the company just that you have a chance to win a top prize of $50,000 if you would choose option 1....then you will receive series of text questions....if you don't choose option 1 the call disconnects so you can't even give your two cents.......Where is the FTC? Extremely irritated!
PEOPLE, Stop with the do not call registry already, hello! The first time they call, just set them as a contact name of Spam and set the ring to NO RING. Poof, done! Even if they do call, you won't be disturbed and eventually, they stop. I have about 9 or 10 contacts named various versions of Spam, all set to NO RING. Just something we all have to live with, so stop with the do not call registry....like how dare they not fix this. Whateva!
Same as what everyone else is saying. And yeah, added their number to my call blocker. That makes 20 numbers on that list since I put my cellphone number on the ChoicePrivileges application through Choice Hotels (they own Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Rodeway, Econolodge). Not sure if there is a connection but I got ZERO telemarketer calls in the four years I had this number before I filled out that app. Just sayin...
