So, reading after what everyone says that the number is from Citibank...I have NEVER associated with them in any reasons at all. Maybe they are calling me for something else? Cuz I do always get those dumb direct mails saying that I can cash a certain amount that is on the check...I don't take loans. Sooooooooooo...yeah, I am ignoring it!
this is a citicard collections #..could be for your sears card..if your not answering the collection calls theyve been making from the area code 336# they will change #s..including the area code to throw you off..hoping you'll answer
The person citibank is calling for does not live at my number. Before I can ask a question or make any kind of statement, they hang up. One person did identify herself as Angela and said it was about a personal matter. Most of the time, they hang up while I am talking. Today is Saturday and the calls started at 8:30am and on............
GOD, THEY START CALLING AT 7AM AND DONT STOP UNTIL 11PM AT NIGHT. I MEAN THESE PEOPLE CALL US AT LEAST 4 TIMES PER HOUR INCLUDING EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK..EVEN ON SUNDAYS!!!!. THEY MUST HAVE OUR # ON AUTO CALL FOR EVERY 20 MINUTES. THEY DONT EVEN SAY ANYTHING WHEN YOU ANSWER THE PHONE. IT IS GETTING SO ANNOYING THAT I AM ABOUT TO CHANGE MY TELEPHONE # AT MY COST OF COURSE. IF I HAVE TO GO THAT ROUTE I AM TAKING THIS TO A LAWYER AND LETTING THEM HANDLE IT. THIS IS HARRASSMENT. WE DONT HAVE A CITYBANK ACCOUNT ANYWHERE. WE HAVE NEVER EVER DEALT WITH CITY BANK AT ALL. WE HAVE HAD THE SAME BANK ACCT SINCE I WAS 17 WITH ANOTHER BANK, AND I AM NOW 38 YEARS OLD. ALSO, WE RECEIVED A PIECE OF MAIL FROM THE SAME NAME TELLING US THAT WE ARE APPROVED TO BORROW 5000.00 ON A SIGNITURE. THEY MUST BE DESPERATE FOR BUSINESS I GUESS..IF YOU ARE FROM THERE AND YOU ARE READING THIS, GOOD LORD, STOP CALLING PEOPLE LIKE THIS..YOUR GOING TO GET SUED AND WE WILL WIN!!!!!!!
Phone calls from 502-357-7999. Answered the phone and payment was demanded, although we have auto-payment set up and the payment is clearly made according to the monthly statements. Gentleman demanded a payment stating that the account was 3 months in arrears and nothing had been paid since January. Absolutely untrue. Auto-payment info. was reiterated and the man said that the auto-payment had expired some time ago and again said the account was 3 months in arrears. Then made reference to whether or not the statements are even reviewed each month. Asked for a supervisor and while on hold checked the most recent statement. Woman came on the phone stating she was a supervisor and made the same claims as the man about the account and supposedly no payments. Of course, rebutted with the truth about the auto-pay. She was very rude and said "dont' you read your statements?" With that the statement was located and the auto-pay was clearly there, but while she was put on hold so the statement could be located, she hung up.Called the number back to discuss and found that it supposedly isn't in service. So called the billing department on the statement and asked to speak with a supervisor. Explained the entire situation and she said that the account was fine. She believed the situation is fraud and an attempt to steal identity or at the very least take monies under false pretenses. The phone number was reported to Citibank and they filed a claim with their fraud dept. They also were very helpful in closing the account and transferring everything to a new one. Additionally, it was found on the last statement that a purchase not made was charged. So of course, proceed with a dispute for the charge as well.Personally, this does not seem legitimate in the least. And I would imagine hiring an investigator and then filing a class action law suit against the parties involved would be most appropriate.
Quit pestering people and GET A LIFE of your own. If people are not answering their phone or paying their bill...what in the world makes you think you're harassment will change that???!!!! You're all a bunch of IDIOTS!!!! How do you know people are "deadbeats"? That's how debt collectors treat everyone and you haven't got a clue. You get a phone number and just keep harassing people because you have no life of your own!! STOP HARASSING PEOPLE!! When you don't get any where after a phone call or TWO then stop calling!!!! I just unplug the phone and figure you can just listen to the phone ring and it only wastes YOUR time not mine. If I want anyone to call me....I give them my cell number and still get any IMPORTANT CALLS that I want!!! Happy dialing!!!
These calls are probably for a Sears card. They call my house 5,6, or 7 times a day. This is harrassment, and is a definite violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 6--5.
