These idiots PRETENDING TO BE the "census bureau" , let me tell you, THEY ARE NOT, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS THIS IS A BOGUS # WHICH THEY USE CALL SPOOFING! DONT ANSWER THEIR CALLS!CONTACT YOUR LOCAL STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE AND TELL THEM YOU ARE BEING HARASSED NON STOP AND AT LATE HOURS(IF THAT APPLIES TO YOU).

Well, it may be legitimately the Census Bureau calling - but surprise, surprise, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED BY LAW TO COMPLETE THE AMERICAN COMMUNITY SURVEY SENT OUT BY THE CENSUS BUREAU. Nor can you be "fined" for not doing so. The only census you are required to answer is the one every 10-years that asks how many people are living in your home to determine the amount of representatives in Congress that your area receives. PEOPLE - THAT IS IT. These other invasive questions are ridiculous, and under Title 1, Section 2, Claus 3, have NO BASIS WHATSOEVER in the Constitution. This is what is wrong with America - a bunch of sheep, cowering around, and being intimidated by their government. No one in their right mind would answer the questions on this survey - as far as showing up at your door, that's what the police are for.

My harassment started with post cards, then unsigned and undated letters saying they are from the Census Bureau and apparently under the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (their caps) then the calls started. I decided to check this out. I called the Department of commerce and was told this is a scam. Then after a few more calls I called the Dept of Commerce and asked for the U.S Census bureau. I was given the number to call. The woman there told me that I would be fined $5,000 and jail time if I did not answer every question on this 28 page American Community Survey. She said they would send people to my door to get the questions answered and get the survey back. She was very forceful and not at all the quality of people that would answer from a legitimate government department. If this is a legit phone number then scamers have figured out a way to reroute the number to their people. There is no way this could possibly be legit. The government does not operate this way. If they are, we better do more than write emails about it. I am going to contact some news people and see if they will look into this.

This is the second number from these [***]. They are not legitimate, they are scammers. I reported them to the local Police Chief and he said they were nothing but scammers looking to steal identities.If you are using Time Warner Cable, you can go into your account on-line and block their number, although it appears they change it. [***] scumbags!!

The "us census" calls my cell phone many times per week and all hours. I have done my town census and sent it back. I will not give personal info in the phone !

Mothrrrrrr fukerssss Indians are doing fraud in every way they can watch out they have magic jack and they put the phone numbers to appear on ur caller id as the real number.... If any 1 wants my information they can send me a letter in the mail and I will verify the letter to... To see who it's from!!!!FRAUDDDD watch OUT

What is wrong with you people?

I've been receiving calls from they state the census buearu at first it was on my home phone now they call on my cell just wondering if this is the new Conservative harassment of the Obama Administration to take over for the IRS while the HEAT is on. Has any other person that voted Republican started receiving these harassing type calls

Received several calls from this number on my cell phone. They left a voice mail claiming to be from the Census Bureau and referred to a case id. The Census Bureau does not have my cell number nor my home number. If was legitimately from the census bureau they would try to contact by U.S. mail.
