Yes this is Cavalry Investment Portfolio Services, a collection agency. They have a few locations, one is Arizona another in NY I believe. They are calling to collect a debt, they will demand payment now or will bargain with you for X so many days or X so many dollars. Depending on your state, if the collection agency is not licenced to do business in your state you do not have to pay them, they can't legally take you to court unless they are licensed. Check out your state's statue of limitations. Also if you are newly married or occured debt before marriage your spouse has no obligation to fulfill on your premarital responsibilities. I also recommend sending them a cease and desist letter. You can find one here, all phone call harassment will stop but they can mail you over and over again.

This company took over this account from Americredit on me back in 2001, they are no longer supposed to be on my credit report per my state's SOL, and I just updated my credit report and now they are calling me again this time on my cellphone, which I have no idea how they got it!! Must be from my credit report, Thanks Experian, so much for them looking out for you!!

These people call me everyday! I never answer. Then they started calling my husbands cell phone, and when I didn't call them back, they called my mother in law looking for me. I probably have a debt that occured from an ex boyfriend ripping me off but everytime I call a creditor back, I make a payment plan with them, pay them some money, then they sell the account & no part of the balance ever shows paid down. The next people want 2k a month...like I can afford that! And keep bugging me until I make another payment plan...and the circle begins. AGAIN!

THIS SLOW MAN CALLED AT 8:57 PM ASKING FOR MY SON THAT DOES NOT LIVE HERE. WOULD NOT TELL ME WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED. TOLD HIM NOT TO CALL HERE AGAIN BUT HE STILL DOES. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL ALSO AND THEY NEED TO STOP CALLING HERE.

Got a call this evening from 602-667-0128. He asked for XXXXXXX and I asked who was calling. He said Aaron (or something). I told him that when I call someone, I identify myself and he snidly said he did. I simply hung up. I don't care who anyone is calling....,you identify yourself and the company you represent. That's common etiquette.If you call again, your call will not be accepted...simply as that.

I got a call from this number, and they asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my SS#. I would not, but I asked who they were and the only response was "We have some of your business on our desk." I told them I didn't know what that meant and to specify. They did not.During this my grandmother rang on the other line so I hung up on them. My grandmother said that these people had just called her(in another state)asking for me so she gave them my number. I chastised her about giving out info over the phone.This was 4 days ago, I have not heard back or gotten any mail.

CALLED AND SAID A GUY USED ME FOR A REFERENCE. THEY GAVE ME A PHONE #888-807-1107 FOR HIM TO CALL.ALSO A REF. #. THEN IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE WAS DIALINGPHONE. I COULD TELL SHE WAS STILL THERE. SHE WOULDN'T ANSWEAR ME. THEN SHE SAID THANK YOU , HUNG UP.SHE DID SAY SOMETHING ABOUT Portfolio.BUT I ASK HER WHO SHE WAS.

When people forfiet their just debt, a professional collection agency should be able to pursue collection once the debtor has exhausted all efforts to collect. MY issue is that I keep getting calls for bills on people I don't even know - never have even met a couple of these bozos who have given my #. Since I don't answer phone on unknown # or debt calls.... I still get these nasty little hang up calls at the wee hours of am and on weekends. That is illegal. If I do get hold of a person and tell them don't know who it is that's given my number, they say ok - will take my # off... yet never do. I am sick of this.
