They never give up no matter what you tell them. I do not have any outstanding debts and they are harassing me anyway. They say if I don't owe then I have the phone of the person that does! How ridiculous. I turned them in once to the FCC and I am filing another complaint this afternoon. The name the caller gives in John Deere.
They continue to call and ask for someone I have never heard of. I can't get them to quit calling my cell phone.
I am sick of these collection agencies bothering me for money I do not owe THEM. The credit card companies have gotten billions of our tax dollars(when we bailed out the banks) and we got squat. They write off bad debts and collect money from their insurance company and then sell the debt to bottom feeders for pennies on the dollar. These lowlifes then preceed to add on interest of their own and a $500 credit card debt is suddenly $3000 and they "bought" your debt for $5-$10 dollars. I always paid my bills on time and sent them more than the minimum and they would lie and say I was late and add on a $39 late fee. Since my balance was never going down on cards I had not used in a year, the late fee would put me over my limit and they hit me with a $39 over the limit fee. The next month they would double my minimum due and also demand another $78 for being "late" and overlimit. Well with all these added costs and the 28-33% finance charges I could not keep up dishing out so much money on cards I had not used in almost a year. So for all those bloodsuckers who work for these "Collection Agencies" I only hope you don't get in a situation where you are on the other side of one of these calls. You should have pity for the people who got suckered in by the credit card lies and now are hounded to death by people like you trying to rob them of their last few dollars to line the pockets of these lying thieves trying to collect on money they are not even owed. If I had the money, I would gladly pay off the original comanies who issued me the cards. Even though I know they have been reimbursed the money I owed them by their insurance company, it would make me feel better to settle on my debts. I do not believe in giving it to a collection agency and then someone else comes along and "buys" your old debt and then they start harrassing you too. I have people trying to collect on a credit card that was written off almost 10 years ago. I even see on my credit report where a payment was made(not by me) and that keeps the clock going on a debt that should have gone away several years ago. And you collectors have the nerve to say you work in an "honest" and "legal" business!!
They are liars, I was not home and a nephew of mine answered said I wasn't in and took a message, they said they were with "John Deere" and that I have an account with them. I knew immediately it was a collections agency.
Guy just left a message stating:Hi my name is chris cook my number is 1-888-398-1006.Went on my rejected call list.
Beware of Calvary and other debt collectors. Granted, these uneducated persons are trying to make money for themselves to pay their own bills, but that does not mean they can demean and ridicule us. Trust me, any legitimate debt, by a legitimate company, would be handled by said company's lawyer. Not some rude employee of a debt collection agency. Don't answer their calls. If you unfortunately answer the phone and get one of these "people" on the phone, tell them simply "I don't know who you are, and I have no business with you". PERIOD !!! Hang up the phone, or better yet, let your young child or grandchild talk to them (he he he). And certainly don't ever give out ANY information about yourself, or anyone else they are calling about... After all, they are calling you. They should be answering our questions, not vice versa. Debt collections should be handled through the mail only. If they send something to you in the mail, well if it's not you throw it away in the trash. These collection agencies CAN NOT sue you!!! If there was any real legitimate claim for monies due to a company that you had credit with, that company's attorney would sue you in court, and on top of that sue you for lawyer's fees, court costs, etc. That's a whole other story. But, these collection agencies have nothing to work with other than their rude tactics and harassment. By talking to them on the phone, it's like you're inviting them to continue to call you. Tell them "sorry, wrong person...good-bye".... That's it ! Don't ever call them back and don't continue to talk to them or say "that person doesn't live here anymore". It's their open invitation (in their minds) to continue to call you, whether about yourself, or a previous person residing in your household. My bullet points:1. Don't recognize a number, DON'T ANSWER.2. If they ask you to confirm personal information, DON'T ANSWER.3. If they ask do you know where "someone" is, DON'T ANSWER. So, to wrap it up, DON'T ANSWER ANYTHING. The collection agency bought "bad" debt from a company that knew damn well they weren't going to be able to collect what a person owes them. Now the original company not only writes off the bad debt, but actually makes some money (probably .20 cents on the dollar) by selling to the collection agency, who in turn hopes to use scare tactics to make .50/.60 cents on the dollar. Then the collection agency says "hey, we're willing to make you a deal... just pay us .50 cent per dollar owed.) Sounds like a deal, right? Yeah, good luck getting them to take it off your credit report. Maybe if they actually get like .90 cents per dollar... Don't go for it. After all, it's already on your credit report. Won't be long before the government is bailing them out too, because of stupid business decisions they made. Just let it go, and keep that money you would send to the collection agency to spend on yourself, your significant other, your kids, family, whatever.... better than sending it to "them". God Bless.
