?? What's the deal.??? These guys or girls call , do not leave a message and waste their money for what ?

Called and hung up

Got a call from them today around 8:00 PM. They had my name right, but said I have some outstanding debt they would like me to talk about and that the call was being recorded. One, they, Portfolio Recovery Associates, said I had debt with a Citi credit card. First of all, I just barely turned 18 and don't even have a credit card. Second of all, I don't have any debt at all. I just hung up. My guess is they're a bunch of scammers!

Called a minute ago. I did not recognize the number, so I did not answer it. No message left.Since I got a call yesterday from a debt collector ( I found out it was a debt collector by finding the phone number on this website), I am going to assume that this phone number is also some undesirable trying to annoy innocent people. For Droid users, try "Easy Filter" in the app market for blocking these pests.

For those of you with Android phones, there is a lot of very good call blocking applications listedin the Play Store. I can't speak for all of them but the one I'm currently using after going throughseveral of them and feeling out their strengths and weaknesses is "Extreme Call Blocker".Very, very good .... I've got it configured to allow my contacts and local area code but block unknowncallers sending them to voicemail without ringing if not explicitly banned and just deleting everythingwith no ringing and no voicemail if they are banned.Might be a suggestion if any of you are hounded. These bozos at Portfolio Recovery mixed me up with someone else with a similar name from some other part of the country and keep calling from different numbers from 620, 757, 888, 281 area codes even though they've been served formalcease and desist letters which they quite illegally ignore. With the blocking I'm using now though, all is nicely silent --- no scammers, no telemarketers, no mistaken identity collections, no wrong numbers. :)Nobody can call me unless I want them to call me.

These assclowns have called my cell from every state in the US and hang up every time I answer! I don't think they are looking for me because I don't have any dealings with collectors. Can they call from so many different numbers like that?

Received call from this number but no message. Probably a telemarketing robo-call( the type which tries to reach numbers in a telephone exchange using an auto-dialer). This type of call often breaches federal law. If the caller is unknown, they always leave a message if important. Rule: Do not bother answering unless a message is left.
