The 647 898 8827 number is one of three that continually calls our private land line. There's no question that it originates in a scammers call center. We react in one of two ways;: either cut the connection without speaking to the caller.. Or, upon recognizing the number, answer the call, allow the caller to speak a few words and in mid-sentence blow a Boy Scout type whistle at full blast directly into the mouthpiece. (We keep the whistle on your phone table at all times.) The eardrum--piercing shriek effectively alerts callers that we're prepared and trained in self defense. At the same time, take every opportunity by internet to publicize the number as a scam-center irritant.
It's a public information. Just google this number the name and address will show up. Your concern is in good deeds anyway. But doesn't help much.
We keep getting these calls from the 647 area code. The telephone number itself is often different so bypasses the Call Blocker. Whether or not it is the same company doing all the calls or not we can't determine.Just another of those unwelcome nuisances. There is on from this area code that purports to be Microsoft letting me know about a problem with my computer.
The best way to handle these calls is to quickly pick up the phone and put it back down. This stops the ring,,,after a few tries, over time, the robo system will mark your phone as defective. Answering or letting it go to an answer machine (blocking still puts it on the machine) validates your line.
These f%^ker just call today. Don't know the number so never pick up. CC scammer or not. Blocked for good. I'll be surprised if anyone will still give out CC numbers on the phone.
TODAY a call from 647-898-8827 - who appear to be card scammers.YESTERDAY while at a local bar, I used a DCBank ATM.Coincidence??? I don't know, but this is the 3rd time it has happened. The calls have not been from the same number, but everyone of them were about lowering interest rates.
These low life f%^kers just called 5 mins before. I picked up in hurry may be on 3rd or 4th ring. disconnected from other end. Phoned back thinking I miss a important call without paying attention to the number, sorry, this number is not in service! That is how I am here. What a way to annoy people...idiots!
