I received several calls from 713-981-0098 at 12:00-1:00 in the morning. I unplugged my phone and the next morning, after reconnecting it, called Global Tele Link at 1-877-650-4249 and requested a block on my phone....Hopefully, this will put an end to these unwanted calls....

It's not a scam. It's someone really trying to get in contact with you. Sometimes It's a collect call but occasionally the inmate has the money to pay for the calls. I just received a call from my friend, the call is routed through TX but it can come from almost any correctional facility in the country.

Everyone needs to call their local phone company. This is bulll- [***]!!

They called at 1am. Picked up female robot said Collect Call something er other as a arib man came on in recording and said A family member has been incarserated. Then back to robo female with 3 options, More information of a sort "rates" thats what it was, then accept somrthing er other, or hangup to denie and cancel Idk but if this line calls again I will attempt to trace the call to EXACT P.O.O. When I hung up only 2mins later they called again, and again, and again, and again, untill I unplugged my phone for the night.I don't trust this and beware to all others, do not trust, I'm skilled with electronics and networking, for one person to be calling all of these numbers with different names and what not, just not safe, as for the ones claiming its someone they know calling from the line, any prison or what not should not require a masked nimber. I received a call from Global Tel Link just mins ago telling me someone was in jail and press 9 to accept this call. I don't have friend or relatives would be in jail. Thanks again you all :)

WHY WOULD A 713 AREA CODE COME UP FROM WAYSIDE???? ITS ALWAYS BEEN 661.

It IS a scam. When someone gives you instructions (*72) to forward your phone to another number, then that shoudl tell you that something is wrong.
