I keep getting calls at all hours from this number saying it is the Orange County Detention facility. Part of the call is in spanish. I am going to try and get this number blocked.

is there a way to contact them back if the call is missed??

The call can come from any jail/prison that uses this service; they get routed through the company's number in Texas. The recording should identify the call as being from global tel link and should say the name of the prisoner and where he/she is an inmate. The first time to a number they give you about a minute free (or at least did for us). Then you either have to accept collect charges (land lines) or add money, which you can do while on the line or by calling a number (credit cards). Each call runs 65 cents for 20 minutes , at least from Montgomery County Maryand, but there is a pretty hefty up front service charge (like nearly $5 on $25). Still, much cheaper and easier to use than prior systems. You can't to a three way or forwarded call. (Some other systems allowed that). All in all, a pretty good system for keeping in touch wiht loved ones. If you are getting calls from an unknown person I suggest you call the facility from which it is coming and complaint. Or, I believe you can block calls from that number.

This is NOT a scam. My niece was arrested for trafffic warrants in Orange County, California and she called me collect from this number (713)981-0098. This number belongs to Global Tel Link which does indeed set up pre-paid calling cards for inmates for people whose phone can't accept regular collect calls. I use Vonage, so I can't accept collect calls. I set up a $25 calling card with Global Tel Link and now my niece is able to call me.

how do i blok?

I got a call today from a guy telling me to call his supervisor and ask him about a family member thats been hurt badly in critical condition the number he gave me # *7213239444431 and to ask for his supervisor micheal blackbort. So i called and now my phone ring once very often and doesnt ring more than once what the hell was that all about.

Receved calls from this number apparently from a detemtion center in Los Angeles but when it says who it's from it's just a bunch of mumbles. They need to stop calling or take the hint that I will not accept collect calls!

I have been getting calls from this number 713-981-0098 3 a day for the past 3 days. I have no one that I know (friend or family) that is incarcerated. How can I get these phone calls to stop. They got the wrong number.
