By the way, I think all the people posting above saying that they actually got a call from a jail, I think they are the SCAMMERS THEMSELVES. I believe they all know we the victims go to this wonderful websites to check out their crappy actions, and they are trying to fool us into thinking they are legitimate.

It's my friend thats locked up in the county jail but there could always be a related scam going on, they are in jail for a reason, if you don't have anyone missing suddenly then dont bother with it. If you do you will here their voice on the line.

people are you serious, this number is a universal # that is used by global tel link to provide inmates the opportunity to get in touch with their families once they are booked into a county jail. I find it hard to believe how paranoid most of you are about a phone call, I'm thinking if an unknown caller is going to upset you so much, you might want to consider medication. Unbelievable, for the sake of your loved ones I hope no one close to was arrested, How stupid and uncaring would you appear to them? DUH. You may want to listen to the call all the way through, because if it someone telling you you need to open an account its because you have a block on your phone, and the person incarcerated has requested global tel link call you, in other words just do they need your help. dang zip fools

if i call can i figure out who is calling me?? idk any one in prison from tx unless its my biological father who i have not spoken to since i was 7....no way he would have my number

Thank you so much for posting this information. I missed a call on my cell and later heard it beeping to find a voice message asking for credit card info to take the call. I rejected it, but was concerned that something might have happened to a loved one who needed to reach me collect. I googled and found this site, and am much relieved to learn it was a scam. Thank you. I don't know the caller company.

Been getting calls from this number thought it was odd said it was from Gregg county jail

I received 23 calls from 713-981-0098 on dec 25th from 4:39 pm - 10:44 pm. Happened to be out of town and it left 23 voicemails on my phone. Not enough information left in the message to find out who.

I live in Vegas. Do not know anyone from Texas or where ever this is from. I hope this is reported. I have been reading other peoples messages from this number. Obviously he / she needs to quit bothering people. Very rude! He/she shouldn't be allowed to make phone calls!!
