Said there was fraudulent activity on my credit card. I gave no information, but called Chase myself. They told me where the fraudulent charges were from and cancelled my card. It was not anywhere near where I live! I'm glad that a "red flag" went up somewhere, and hope this incident is over.
This is a legitimate call. I never answer 1-800 calls so I called the customer service number on the back of my Chase card, went through the menu and verified a recent charge. I was not asked for any information other than did I make the purchase.
Yes, I also received a call from that number and because of this site, called it back. It was indeed Chase. My suggestion to them was to have their name also appear with their phone number so that it is not ignored as a sales call? She said they were looking in to that possibility.
I do not answer Toll Free numbers, period. But I keep a log of date and time of each call and when a certain number of calls are posted I file a complaint with the FCC and my state Public Service Commission requesting action on their part. I am also registered on the National Do Not Call and State Do No Call lists, but some people are too stupid to check the lists. I have not bothered to check with Chase as my statements are scrutinized very carefully. Try blowing a loud whistle in the phone mouthpiece when picking up the phone. Works like a charm.
This was a voice mail left on my phone from fraud at Chase Credit Card Services. I called the number on my credit card and it was indeed the fraud department from Chase calling within minutes of what I then discovered was a fraudulent charge. Therefore this number was a solid call from Chase.
I've gotten several calls from this number and spoke to someone who claimed they were with Chase. I refused to give them any info, told them to stop calling and then called the number on the back of my chase card. The person I spoke to did confirm that Chase had been trying to call me and that my card was now unblocked. I yelled at the guy (poor guy, it wasn't his fault) for having a system that seems like a scam and for blocking my card without telling me. Hopefully they'll get enough complaints and change the way they do things.
This number showed up on my caller ID today. They called 3 times and left 1 message saying they needed to verify charges on my cc. They included the last 4 numbers on my card and that it was a SWA Rapid Rewards card.I finally called the # back and didn't like that they wanted me to enter my whole cc #. So, I called the # on the back of my card and entered the last 4 of my cc #. Then, an automated message started reading off about 5 or 6 charges. I was asked to enter 1 if all were legit, 2 if at least one was unrecognized, or 3 if none were legit. So, just call the number on the back of your cc instead.
Got a call myself from 1-800-454-9078 about some faud charges..called the customer number on back of cc and it was legit..!!..great cc company.
This is NOT a Chase Fraud Dept. number!!! I just spoke to Chase and they do not recognize this number! Do not call them!!!
It's legitimate. I received automated call from Chase Fraud Department indicating there may be fraudulent activity on my account and to call 800-454-9078. Rather than calling that number, I called the 24 Hour Cardmember Service number listed on back of my card. I then provided limited account and identifying information after which I confirmed there were two fraudulent charges on my account totaling $190. Chase immediately closed the account and will issue cards with a new number in 5 business days.
