Keep getting these calls I haven't answered them as of yet but the # shows on my caller ID. Says GLOBAL TEL LINK 800-483-8314. WTF is this # and what are they trying to do?

The voice mail was cut off. All i got was instructions on how to pay with a CC. Called me on my google voice number, which i only give to men that I meet who appear to be too sketchy to have my direct number. So there is no way, an inmate would be trying to establish this number for me. Unless.....

800-483-8314This is the only way a majority of incarcerated inmates have of making collect calls.It's not a SCAM..Yet there's been reports of inmates Randomly calling numbers until someone accepts..to either beg for money..or pass a message along to a loved one or friend.It's never a god ideal to block this number..Due to a Family member being incarcerated and needing to get thru to a Family member.If you're receiving calls and do not know the person...Contact the correctional facility..and they have an officer that usually works day shift that has the ability to look into the contacted number..and find out the callers info.They can block the inmate from further harassing.

This is a service for inmates in many states to reach people they know. They give the numbers to the jail and then they have the go ahead to call. The problem on the inmates side is if they gave the jail a wrong number by mistake they have no idea once they start calling that the person on the other end has no idea who they are. They just hang up without adding money to their account. The inmate tries again and again. If you receive a call from this number and u don't know someone in jail that you want to talk to simply hang up. Eventually they will stop trying. If not you can block any calls from GTL.

Have been getting called by this number at least once a day for the past week now and it's becoming a nusence. Already had to put my phone number in to the national do not call registry now I'm having to do this.

Unknown number. Some scammy message left on my google account about credit cards. Don't trust it.
