I keep getting these calls as weel , I checked the jails web site As far as I know there was no one that I thought might be in Jail on the inmate search, , they said it was from a a Sandiego Ca Prison, I did a reverse look up on the number & it was a co from texas. The caller did not leave a name...Sounds pretty fisshy to me..
who's calling my cell phone??? I know of no one in jail and I seldom give out my cell phone number. How do I get this to stop??????
Called me in Vancouver, BC on my VOiP phone number. I use this VOiP number only for outgoing calls to family in the US. I have never given this number to anyone and know no one in a correctional facility. I would say this was a robocall scam.
I have received 2 calls from this # within 20 minutes. It does NOT say where the "inmate" is calling from, only to go to another website and set up an account so the collect call could be paid for. I know NO one in jail and after being in the legal field for 28+ years, inmates call collect from the jail # not an 800#.
I received a recorded message yesterday evening from this number. It did NOT say who was calling but, that someone from a correctional facility had tried to call my number and couldn't. I listened to the call in its entirety hoping to have an option to opt out or no longer receive calls, but there was none. The rest of the call is an explanation as to how I can call a number, leave my credit card info, and set up an account for the unknown imprisoned, person. The last option was to simply hang up if I had already set up such account. Had the caller at least given a name, I would not have felt it was a scam, not to mention feeling somewhat violated that some prisoner was calling me on my cell phone. It's a very poorly designed and/or managed system!
got a call from the same number twice today picked up the second time to be told that it was a call from a jail. would like them to stop.
I got a call from this number and am tryin to find out where its calling from and what correctional facility
I get these on a fairly regular basis. Funny thing is that they come in on my VoIP Google number that I've never given out to anybody, nor even used it technically.I ignore them since they don't actually ring anything at home or work, just get an email with a roughly translated message telling me somebody from a correctional facility is trying to reach me and that they can't charge my voIP number so I need to set up an account.I imagine it's much like phishing for info, you set up an account and the inmate uses it to call somebody else. There's no way that either the same inmate or multiple inmates would be guessing at my Google number over several months of time. There must be some way that when you setup an account, it also sets it up for the prisoner to call whomever they want, perhaps somebody that can't pay for the call.
