This number keeps calling...no answer when ask who it is. Annoying and scary.

Mark you're absolutely right. I was recently in jail and I had absolutely no money my whole bid and the only way I could call my dad was to have him set up a account so he could answer my calls. It's either that or the inmate has money on there books and can pay for the call. If they pay it will tell you it's a free call. Either way I don't think its possible to be scammed unless you actually sit there and type in your billing info. Other than that Im almost positive you're not being charged for picking up the call. I don't see how that could even be possible?

Not a scam. Global Tel Link is the ONLY phone service that handles calls from local and state institutions where prisoners and/or inmates are housed. I'm VERY familiar with this company as my youngest son has been in local jail as well as state prison. It's VERY expensive and if your phone company won't allow you to receive these collect calls, there's NO other way but to setup an account with GTL. They only take credit card payments and it has to be setup with specific phone numbers.

Not all people belong in jail get it right. I pray that you or no one in your family becomes a victim. The world and the system is crooked!!!!!

Animals, how cruel everyone in the system is a human being remember that.. They're not animals you sound so ignorant. That could very well be a family member of yours.

I do not have anyone I know in correctional facility so yes, I would say a scam!

Don't tell people to grow up! People shouldn't be having to deal with rip off and scams all the time.

Got a recorded message from these people,called the number back to inquire but could not get a live person.(My brother has been arrested several times over the years-all alcohol related episodes!-and the real jails have a recorded message that INCLUDES the inmates name that is trying to call you,to reverse charges) It's definately a scam!

I DO NOT want any calls coming from this number again.

It isn't a scam, my father called from it today, they give then 1 free minute to talk to your loved one. You have to use your credit card (since its over the phone) to put minutes to be able to talk to them...
