The system might not be a scam. But these phone calls are. I don't know anyone in jail. And only my friends and family have my number.

i use offender connect portal online to put funds on my incarcerated boyfriends account. I can put any amount from 1.00 to 200.00. Whatever i put on the phone account he gets to use to make calls, they don't "take" any of it. When he calls the site has HIM say his name i push 0 to accept the call. There are no extra charges to my credit card. Today was the 1st time ive gotten a call from them i hung up i do this online NOT over the phone itsself. I've been using this service for 1 1/2 yrs this way. I'm going to call customer service & find out WHY this number is calling me now, its not the number associated with the site, so i don't know...but i'm gonna find out.

Whatever. I don't want to talk to anyone in jail do the "animals" need to leave me the hell alone

Definitely NOT a scam. Someone in jail or prison somewhere is trying to call you. The number belongs to Global Tel Link which processes calls from inmates all over the US. They are asking you to provide your information because someone has tried to call your number from a correctional facility. They have an online setup system so that you can set up an account for your phone and your inmate can call you. If you don't set it up online, then they provide an opportunity for you to set it up by phone!

Its not a scam the county jail gave me this number for I could recive calls from my husband In jail the minimum is 25.00

Called 1-877-856-3184 to tell them to STOP CALLING MY PHONE NUMBER. I have been getting calls constently from 1-800-483-8314 GTL-pre pay to put money in an account for an inmate in prison. They told me i needed to give them more information other than my phone number so they will stop calling me.I have already filed a complaint , what is it gonna take for this GTL to STOP HARRASING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scary message saying an offender in a correctional facility is trying to reach me. After I put my heart back in my chest, made sure my son was still at work, I came here. I don't know any offenders! They want me to set up an account to receive the call. That's an awful scam to pull.
