Just got the call 2 minutes ago. I know no one that may be in jail right now so they really need to stop calling me. It is just annoying. Thanx for the info about the #.

This is a scam Mary, I have been getting calls from this number and other numbers 800/713/702 all asking me to set up an account for someone in jail-Scammmmmmmmmmmmm!

Got multiple calls from an inmate in a correctional facility. Prompted me to set up an account with my credit card to accept the call.

Number keeps calling me about some money orders and I believe its about prison calls. It's a scam asking me to put money for a western union account!

I called the customer service number told then I'm on the do not call list and they are breaking the law calling me. 877)650-4249 that's the number I called

I have been receiving calls from this number at least once a day for the last week. The operator says they're a service that places calls from inmates. I do not know a single person in jail so I'm thinking that it's a scam and nobody is really trying to contact me.

Global Tel-Link isn't a scam. Their outrageous prices might be scammish, but they're a legit company. Calls from jail are often routed through other area codes. I receive calls from a local county jail, and the area code is always 713, which is Texas. I'm in California. I'm not sure how their calls are routed, but that's how they do it. The 800# calls are automated calls to "remind" you that your account has no money. Annoying as hell, yes. Unethical, yes. Scam? No. I have an account with them and get these calls when my account runs out of money.If you're receiving calls and DON'T know anyone incarcerated, it's probably this: Most likely an inmate is calling the wrong person. If any inmate who calls from a county that contracts with Global Tel-Link, you'll be asked to set up/re-up an account. So if someone dials the wrong number, and you get the call, you'll get that message.Annoying as hell, I agree. They're a rip-off company with agressive tactics, but once again, they are technically legit.

This number has called me at least three times today. I don't know anyone who is in a correctional facility. This number calls every day, several times a day....always says I have to set up an account w/them by giving my credit card info. How do I stop it?
