I get calls from this number daily, multiple times a day. Every time I pick up, there is a recording telling me to calling this very number back due to a "personal matter" That is not going to get me to call them, collections for macy's or not. I have paid off my account, and they send me a bill every month stating I owe more money. I don't .. think Macy's needs to reevaluate how they do business !!
I've received multiple calls asking me to call the 800 number in regards to a personal matter. I ignored the first few calls as this is not the first time my number has been scammed. After the 5th call I looked the number up finding this website. I do not have a Macy's account, nor does anybody in my family so I have not the slightest idea as to why they would be calling. I will be clearing up the matter at a later time.
I'm on the phone with them now. Was left a message to call about a personal matter with Macy's; to call the number 800-511-3207.The person that answered asked if I had a Macy's or Bloomingdale's credit card. I said, "No. That's why I'm calling. I need to find out if you just have the wrong phone number on someone's account or if somebody has opened up an account in my name." He asked for my phone number. They already have it, and it looks like from other replies on here it's a collection agency, so I gave it to him.I as on hold for 3-5 minutes before he got back on the line to tell me he was still checking for the number. Verified the area code again. Finally found it then asked me if I knew "John Doe" (not real name) and I said "No. Never heard of that name before." Then I asked him to remove the number from the automated system so I would no longer receive the calls. He said "that's what I'm doing right now, sir."He did have an Indian accent. He was very polite and didn't ask me for any other personal information... no acct. number, no name, no nothing. My guess is that the number is legit as other people have stated.Hopefully the calls will stop.
Received a cell phone call from this number indicating it was from Macy's and they needed to talk with me immediately about my account. I returned the call a received voice mail message that the call was being recorded for quality assurance and hold for assistance. When the operator came on the phone she mentioned Macy's. She wanted my account number, which I did not give. I asked why they had called my cell phone number. She did not know and asked for my home phone, which I did give. Then she wanted the last four digits of SS number, also which I refused. She settled for my name and indicated that my account was current. She still didn't seem to have an answer for why they called and indicated they would remove my number from their call list.
I was receiving a call with the message about calling 1-800-511-3207 up to 5 times in 1 day on my home phone. I contacted Macy's Customer Service, using a number on their web site and not the one in the message recording - from the web site: 1-800-289-6229. I gave them my home number, explaining that I do not have and never have had a Macy's account. I also explained that I recently got this new home number, as well. They checked and said there was an account with that home number on it, and since it was not my account, there was nothing they could do to remove it. I asked for a name and address, where I could send a copy of my phone bill proving the name associated with the home number (so that they could then disassociate it). I told the associate that did not make sense. It was clearly a wrong number and they would accomplish nothing by keeping MY number on someone else's account. It was only going to make me angry if I continued receiving calls and that I would not shop at Macy's in the future. They would lose a customer. I was placed on hold for lengthy times, more than once, while the associate checked repeatedly on this issue, including after I asked for a name and number to send PROOF that my name was associated with that phone number (and not whoever they had in their records). After a 31 minute long call with Macy's Customer Service, most of it with hold music, the associate told me that they did go ahead and remove my phone number from the other person's account. I do not know if the 1-800-511-3207 is associated with Macy's or not and it remains to be seen if the calls will now stop, but Macy's was somewhat helpful in resolving an account incorrectly associated with my home phone number.
Got a call saying it was Macy,s calling about a personal matter and to call the 800-511-3207. When they answered and I told them that they called me and what did they want they started to ask for all kinds of personal imformation. The bells went off when they asked for the account number. When I did not give it they lost all interest and said thank you for calling. Sounds awful phishy.
Every night I come home from work and find a msg from Macys stating "I should call them at 800-511-3207". I became worried when the msg was left day after day. I called and found myself speaking with someone from India whose english was barely understandable. Calling Macys about anything is very frustrating due to language barriers. The person had no idea why I was left this msg. The phone messages started again. I finally gave in and called tele number on my statement to no avail. Language barrier - no idea. Same scenario again. Very Frustrating. I'm on the verge of cancelling my charge account. Still very concerned about these crazy msgs.
Accidentally missed one payment due to their website upgrade and charged me a $30 late fee. They are constantly harassing me by calling me at least 5 times a day even though I've already paid for the late fee.
This is a Phishing Scam. Just got this automated message to call 1-800-511-3207. I called the number and they couldn't tell me why they called until I gave them my account number or social security number. They stated they were FDS Bank (a sister company of Macy's and Bloomingdales) The thing is that I have not had a Macy's or BD credit card. I hung up and called Macy's credit department and they called the number on my behalf. They got an indian woman and could not verify who they were to the Macy's representative or any information about the system they were using to look up information.Macy's Fraud Department is launching an investigation. Please call Macy credit and Fraud Dept and report this if you are getting the same calls.
I've received more than 5 calls from this number in the past 2 weeks. The last time, they left a message indicating that there's a "problem" with my Macy's account and they need to spea with me. I checked my acocunt information on Macy's website and all appears fine to me. No missed payments, not over the credit limit, etc.
