I received 2 calls in the past two days from this automated person stating to call "today" regarding "a personal matter" from Macy's. Being a skeptic, I called Macy's (actual)Customer Service. They did not have any record of the 1800-511-3207 in their company. The representative also stated that if they (Macy's) actually needed to speak to me, it would be an actual person not an automated person with a call back number. Since I have not used my Macy's card in years, I checked my balance....zero (good). I'm tempted to call that number and screw with this scam. In the meantime, I'm closing my Macy's acct.
Git a call twice from this number. Tried to call back no answer or answered and silence at the other end. I have an account at Macy's, its not past due. If it is them and they keep calling I will be closing that account.
You might want to call the number on the back of your card and report that they may have been spoofed, before you cancel your account. It sounds like your account may have been compromised.
I've received 2 calls from Macy's. The phone call doesn't ask for anyone, just wants me to call the 1-800 #. Fat Chance. I don't have a Macy's account.
Scammers. Never give info or pymnt to anyone that calls you. Hang up and call number on your card.
I got the same call numerous times. I called Macys and I have a $0 balance. Then I called the number back and they confirmed that I have no balance. They said they would not call again. Lets hope so! Don't like that they asked for my SS number. Don't give it out! Who are these people and why would Macys use them?
I also got a call in Dec 2015 and happened to be a LEGITMATE call. No worry, but don't give your detail to anyone that you dont know, rather call Macys and let them route to the same agency.
I called the number, gave my account number and then was told I was behind one payment. I called Macy's customer service number located on the back of the card and she said yes I was behind a payment, yes it was Macy's collection service, and that there are no late fees or reporting to any outside agencies. I paid the balance and canceled the card anyways because I do not like to be harassed when I forget to make just one payment.
I have bee getting these calls too, in fact the last call was October 2015 when a male caller said he was calling from Citibank to collect my minimum payment of $47.00 on my Macy's account. They got all my information and knew that I pay my Macy's bill from my Citibank account. I cursed him out and hang up the phone. Macy's said they will be compensating customers whose info were leaked but you can find your own attorney and sue Macy's if that's your preference.
