They said it was a personal matter and I should call Macy's at this number. Checked my on-line macys.com account and there are no issues. Did not call them back.
Thet leave messages to call 800-511-3207 about a personal matter. I call and they say I have a past due account, never had a Macy's or Bloomingdale card. They asked if Kenneth was here, NO never has been a Kenneth at this number, yet they continue to call. Today they said my number has been removed from their list, we shall see. I am fed up with this and told them I am ready to take legal action, maybe now they will quit calling, I asked if they understood the english language as I have repetedly told them I never had their card. What a mess too bad we have to deal with someone overseas what is the US thinking....
The number 800-511-3207 is legitimate. It's a Macy's automated reminder to let you know gat the payment is past due. I simply logged into my Macy's Credit Card account and sure enough I had forgotten to pay my credit card payment and was late by a day. As soon as I made the payment (online using my Macy's profile), I stopped getting those calls. However, when you are in doubt, it's always good to check directly with your credit card company and double check the payment status.
the calls come in from an auto-dialer and the message asks me to all 800-511-3207. This turns out to be macy's credit department. I don't have macy's cc and never shop there. They said they'd remove my number from their database so let's hope they follow through.
It appears that when you agree to take on a Macy's charge card - you have 2 accounts. One is an "in store" account and the other is a Visa account. When you set up your information on line to pay the bill, you are actually setting up your Visa account, as that's the number the store cashier gives you when you agree to open an account. Assuming that you are setting up your "MACY'S" account - you're not. Not understanding why I was getting collection calls - as my account had a $150.00 credit according to the website account...I called and had a very heated conversation with a gentlemen who informed me that I the $150.00 credit was on my "VISA" account NOT my MACY'S account. He could not explain to me how I had 2 accounts open when I only THOUGHT I had one. I had late fees added to my MACY'S account which should NOT have been added. I will be closing out this account and NEVER will I EVER deal with MACY'S again. There has to be something illegal about this...and I will be checking on it.
This number has been calling me every morning. It's annoying. If there is anything wrong with my account, I am sure Macy's customer service in person will call! This is a scam!
