Thusday, July 23, 2015 at 4: 07 this phone # 18007414591 called me many time she, the person demanded to talk to me and she said my name. She called from CIBC she said and she wanted to speak to me to ask me a few questions I told her I did not have time for that. I asked her to call me back in one hour. She didn't. I wonder where she got my # to call me I knew she's not from CIBC. Could somebody do something.
A con - a fraud claiming to be the bank, hoping to con gullible marks into divulging financial information.
The way to deal with this call is to ask the name and title of the person who called, then call CIBC head office and confirm that said person works there, then ask for them. Always call the number in the phone book back, not the one they are calling from, if it is legitimate you will reach them, if it isn't you have safeguarded yourself. NEVER, give out personal information to anyone who calls you, not your name or even your address.
Thursday, July 23, 2015 @ 4:07 pmI got a phone call from this # above she the person who called me said she called me from CIBC. She knew my name she wanted to ask me a few questions about my account. I told her I didn't have time for now, call me in one hour. I knew she's not calling from CIBC. Can somebody do something about it
Very suspicious how the shills keep saying how they received a legitimate call from CIBC. Would anybody thought they received a legitimate call run and look the number up on an unknown caller site just to tell everyone they received a legitimate call? Think about it. The cons that run these scams salt this board with phony reviews, but they only make the scam even more obvious.
This number calls my phone everyday around 4pm. It is a CIBC number. I know this because my boyfriend works for their outbound call service. Sometimes they're helpful and other times they're annoying. This person calling was incredibly annoying so I put him on the phone with my bf to try and get him to stop calling then the guy tried to give him the financial advice instead. Lol. They are legitimate but they also have sales goals to meet. But if someone is asking for personal info never give it to them. If there's a service that appeals to you call the bank back and ask to meet with an advisor. CIBC does it for free.
I received a call from this number on July 24th 2015 @ 5:45 PM. The woman on the other end said she was a "representative from CIBC" and wanted to "thank me for my business over the years". Apparently I had no security on my chequing account (wtf??? yeah right) and needed my SIN # confirmed! She asked for information about where I worked and my home phone number. She then asked if I agreed to "give a third party complete access to my SIN #". Are you kidding me??? That's identity theft!DO NOT answer the calls from this number or give them your personal information!!!!!! TOTAL SCAM, NOT LEGIT AT ALL!Any of the commenters saying the call is legit are LYING! Your bank would not ask you for your SIN # over the phone!!!!!!!
this is a scam .... cibc would call and tell you to come in for an appointment ... they would not discuss anything of your account over the phone and they also don't call at 8:00 at night and on weekends... as soon as you tell the caller you know they are a scam and start to threaten to call the police they hang up before you get the words out... I went into my branch and told them what was happening and asked what the deal was and they told me that the calls are definitely not coming from cibc representatives ..
I just got a call from this number. CIBC did show on my Call Display. They are trying to upsell or sell other banking products starting with Insurance. (He knew all my current CIBC products including balances) If you are happy with your current products or inquiring about products in your time you will want to say no up front. (came across as the typical commission sales call)
